About us
Our Mission: SiREM was founded in 2001 to provide the highest quality testing services and remediation products combined with unparalleled technical support to increase remediation effectiveness, decrease remediation costs and provide peace of mind during field implementation. Our focus is the remediation of chlorinated solvents, metals, petroleum hydrocarbons and other recalcitrant contaminants in soil, sediment and groundwater. Research and Development/Technology Commercialization SiREM is active in research and development (R&D) and collaboration with leading research organizations. SiREM regularly provides samples and technical support to external research projects with SiREM and our research partners regularly publishing findings in leading technical journals and industry conferences. Extensive and ongoing R&D keeps SiREM at the forefront of remediation technology, allowing SiREM to provide leading edge products and services to our customers in this dynamic field. Products and Services: SiREM is widely recognized as a leader in bioaugmentation for chlorinated solvent remediation and bench-scale treatability testing applied to a wide range of remediation technologies including in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), in situ chemical reduction (ISCR), bioremediation and permeable reactive barriers. SiREM also offers a range of laboratory testing services for remediation site monitoring, management and optimization including Gene-Trac® testing for monitoring biodegradative microbes and other specialized analyses. Outreach: SiREM routinely participates in industry and academic events including conferences, guest lectures, charitable and other community events that bring the environmental remediation and remediation technology into our communities with the goal of increasing the profile of these beneficial services.

I love that I get to work at a place (SiREM Lab & Geosyntec Consultants) where I get to play (run experiments) and solve real world water problems! Ask me if Rapid Small-Scale Column Testing (RSSCT) may be appropriate for studying your site contaminant issues. #RSSCT #columntesting

SiREM Lab has hosted many students over the years and there must have been a baby boom back in 2010 or so!! It was great to see such a big group of students interested in science and engineering.
We had an exciting day with our Grade 9 students during Bring Your Kid to Work Day, where they learned how to use science and engineering to tackle environmental challenges. The students experienced both an in-person and a virtual-reality tour of Savron Solutions Smoldering Systems and Fire Laboratory, as well as a visit to SiREM’s Laboratory and bioaugmentation culture production facility. They also took part in Canadian Operation’s Idea Generator, a brainstorming session focused on applying innovation and technical excellence to our work. We are eager to see how these budding scientists and engineers shape our future!

I am so lucky to work at Geosyntec Consultants , with our partners at Geosyntec REELab and SiREM Lab! I get to meet such amazing smart people when I travel for Tailings and Mine Waste Conference. And adding in some sight seeing before I head home makes me one happy kid!

The end of a great week at #RemTech #ESSA in Banff. The conference was excellent and a great opportunity to see all the great work being done here in Canada. A fun week with Geosyntec Consultants colleagues, SiREM Lab and Savron Solutions
