20 Years of Virtualware. When Unai Extremo and Sergio Barrera Mayo founded the company in 2003, they had no idea where this journey would take them. Creating the company was like traveling through time. Or at least a time travel attempt. On Monday, the Minister of Defense experienced firsthand the advanced capabilities of XR technology in military training during her visit to the Central Defense Academy. She explored the VR Simulator (SIMUR), a collaborative tool powered by VIROO for training the Military Medical Corps. In use by the Spanish Military Health Schoo (Ministerio de Defensa Español), it provides army units with highly realistic training in critical medical protocols. Additionally, it enables trainers to evaluate participants on key metrics such as leadership, teamwork, communication skills, and decision-making proficiency in complex scenarios and under extreme stress conditions.
