-🔔 TAP Expert Update – Last month,  Canadian expert Deborah Archibald was in #Kosovo, where she had the honour of meeting with the newly established Kosovo Chamber of Mines, a non-government organization. The Chamber serves as a forum and collective voice for people with common goals and interests. It plays an important role in advancing the interests of its members, local communities, and stakeholders while contributing to responsible and sustainable development. In October 2024, the Kosovo Chamber of Mines organized a Forum for members and stakeholders and is already advocating for changes to policies and regulations that regulate the mining industry. -TAP Blog- As part of the #16DaysOfActivism Against Gender-Based Violence and #HumanRightsDay, we invite you to explore the latest TAP blog by Urooj Mian, MSc, LL.M., where she shares her work supporting the Somali Women’s Charter and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (UNSCR 1325) in #Somalia.🇸🇴 Through TAP-EDM, Urooj collaborated with Somalia’s Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development (MoWHRD) to address critical issues facing Somali women, including gender-based violence, access to justice, peacebuilding, and responses to climate and humanitarian crises. In her blog, Urooj reflects, “The most rewarding aspect of my work has been the focus on capacity development and empowerment. Dans le cadre des 16 jours d’activisme contre la violence basée sur le genre, nous partageons à nouveau cette vidéo d’Affaires mondiales Canada | Global Affairs Canada qui souligne l' initiative du PAT en #Gambie. Cette initiative du PAT, réalisée avec l’expertise de Anju Fujioka, avocate canadienne spécialisée en procès civils pour les survivants de violence sexuelle et sexiste, a collaboré avec le ministère de la Justice de la Gambie pour appuyer la toute nouvelle unité de violence sexuelle et sexiste. Son travail comprenait la formation et l’encadrement des enquêteurs de police, des procureurs et des magistrats afin de renforcer la capacité du système judiciaire à enquêter et à poursuivre les crimes de violence sexuelle, contribuant ainsi à améliorer les résultats pour les survivants.
