📍 Threads of Kin and Belonging opens Feb. 7 at WAG-Qaumajuq, exploring connections between Indigenous and Black communities. On Feb. 9, don’t miss Threads: A Fashion Demonstration—a free event featuring local Black designers, music and food!
🎶 Live Music, Markets & Cultural Experiences
📍 Manitoba Museum First Friday (Feb. 7) – A free evening of live music, local vendors, and delicious food.
📍 Movement for Rosa by Mark Camphouse (Feb. 8) at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium in Brandon performed by Brandon University Symphonic Band with the Westman Junior and Senior Honour Bands — a musical performance celebrating the accomplishments of civil rights hero Rosa Parks.
📍 IGNITE Winnipeg (Feb. 11) at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights—celebrating Black talent with speakers, panels, and entertainment.
📍Black History Manitoba visits FortWhyte Alive for a presentation on historical figures in Black Canadian History (Feb. 23.)
