Sayde, our field coordinator for the Mobile Medical Unit covering the regions of Khaldieh and Tripoli (North Lebanon), tells us how the MMU has become a lifeline for the displaced population, delivering essential primary healthcare and social support. Run with the invaluable support of Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust , this unit offers more than medical assistance; it brings hope, dignity, and a reminder that every life matters.

  • In 2014, amidst conflict and displacement, 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥 𝐉𝐚𝐚𝐫 and the 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 began a mission of compassion, offering refuge, medical care, and education to hundreds of Catholic Iraqi families. As they waited for visas to rebuild their lives elsewhere, 800 families found sanctuary at the 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚-𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 in Jordan. Many arrived without a place to stay, but 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐚𝐫 took action, founding a free school to give refugee children a sense of stability and hope. This was the first step toward a brighter future for those who had already endured so much.   Over time, 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐚𝐫’s dedication has only grown, securing housing, food, and essential medical care for the community. Today, these resilient families continue to inspire, with the parish and school serving as a lifeline for hundreds. Beyond education, they provide vital support in health, sustenance, and the moral encouragement needed to heal from past traumas.   We are honored to have accompanied 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐚𝐫, the 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞, and the 800 families they serve over the past five years, supporting their mission to bring education and essential resources to all.   Join us in our support of this important project, when we stand together to offer love, care, and opportunity, our world truly becomes a better place: https://lnkd.in/ejKCrRhc   #Refugees #Compassion #Hope #CommunitySupport #MessengersofPeace

  • In the past two weeks, the conflict in the southern region of Lebanon on the border with Israel has displaced 1.2 million Lebanese citizens, leading to a devastating humanitarian crisis with over 2000 lives lost and approximately 10,000 injured. Since 2019, the Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust has been partnering with the Order Of Malta Lebanon, launching our Mobile Medical Unit project to provide healthcare in remote villages in North Lebanon and our Food Truck project helping deliver food, water, and hygiene supplies to remote areas across the country. Both our Mobile Medical Unit and our Food Truck have now been mobilised to the most critical areas of Lebanon to help those in need with medical care, food and basic supplies. Together with our trusted partner, the Order Of Malta Lebanon, we are stepping up to help even more than before. We’ve immediately sent additional funds to support the 500,000+ displaced people seeking refuge in one of the 892 shelters across Lebanon. Lebanon needs our support now more than ever! Let’s stand with them in this time of need! Please visit our website, donate and join us in supporting the people in Lebanon, who need us most! https://lnkd.in/ejKCrRhc

  • In times of economic hardship, migrants often face significant challenges, yet their struggles can go unnoticed. With over 270 million migrants globally, many still lack access to essential resources like employment, housing, and family support in their host countries. Since 2019, Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust has partnered with the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN). Through 90 impactful projects in 34 countries, they provide critical services such as housing, healthcare, education, legal support, and employment guidance to help migrant families settle and thrive in new communities. Thanks to our continued support, the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) reaches around 150,000 migrants and displaced people annually in South America, offering them essential resources and a chance to rebuild their lives. Let’s continue backing the incredible work of the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN)! • Founded in 1997 by Sister Sophie Renoux of the Missionaries of Mary, ACAY Philippines - France has been dedicated to restoring dignity to young women who have survived trauma and abuse. Their innovative approach provides a nurturing environment where these young adults can rebuild their self-esteem and plan for a bright future as independent adults. The School of Life, a residential home for girls aged 16 to 21, offers refuge to those who have faced abuse, neglect, and abandonment. By providing safe housing, nutrition, healthcare, and vocational training, these young women can prepare for self-sustainability and a better future. We are thrilled to support ACAY Philippines - France in covering the living costs for 30 young women, including shelter, food, education, and medical expenses. It's an honour to contribute to their mission of giving these young women a better start to their adult lives. #CaritasProVitaeGradu #CPVG #Empowerment #Support #Community #ACAYMissionPhilippines #MakingADifference Please visit our website and join us in supporting this meaningful project: https://lnkd.in/eH6dNkH8

  • In 2021, Medici con l'Africa Cuamm/ Doctors with Africa CUAMM embarked on a transformative project uniting 15 faith-based organizations running health facilities across 20 African countries. Despite their invaluable service, many of these facilities lacked vital resources like IT systems and training in management and fundraising, making it challenging to provide essential healthcare services amid rising inflation. To address these challenges head-on, Medici con l'Africa Cuamm/ Doctors with Africa CUAMM launched the Congregation Training Program. This initiative offers comprehensive training in management, budgeting, fundraising, and personalized IT support for each healthcare facility managed by these congregations. Since the beginning, Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust has been supporting this project so that the local faith-based organizations, the local congregations, and local dioceses receive the support that they need to help as many people as possible in their communities!   On the 20th of March 2024, Medici con l'Africa Cuamm/ Doctors with Africa CUAMM organized an event in Rome to discuss the findings and results of the last 3 years of this project and we were astounded to see the results! This faith-based organization training program has been able to reach a total of 48 faith-based organizations that run 63 health facilities across 26 countries! Our Philanthropy Officer Eva Kooijman was able to present at the event to explain why Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust focuses on supporting local Catholic Congregations and Diocese and how important projects like this Faith-based organization project from CUAMM are for the most vulnerable people in society.   We are grateful to have such great partner organizations like Medici con l'Africa Cuamm/ Doctors with Africa CUAMM who always focus on finding the right solutions for the specific local problems in each community and we look forward to seeing how this project evolves and changes the health care industry in Sub-Saharan Africa.   To learn more or contribute directly, please visit: https://lnkd.in/egh3uVzd Together, let's ensure access to quality healthcare for all! #healthcareforall #CUAMM #CaritasProVitaeGradu #partnership

  • At 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨 𝐕𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭, we are proud to have supported a transformative project aimed at empowering women and fostering sustainable development in Eritrea. The 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧 Eritrea has been working diligently for the last 3 years to uplift widowed women, break down socio-economic barriers, and pave the way for self-sufficiency. We firmly believe that by empowering women, we empower entire communities.   Since the Eritrean government has not allowed for humanitarian relief programs coming from outside, Eritrea is one of the most isolated countries in the world. Since 1993 only a select few international organizations have been allowed to help in the efforts to fight against poverty and famine in Eritrea, and this is why working with local congregations is the best way to support Eritrean families in need.   This project tackles socio-economic change through 3 different programs. The first is an education program focused on health education, equipping widowed women with vital knowledge and skills to enhance their well-being and that of their families. The second is providing essential work training, this program aims to equip widowed women with the tools and resources they need to thrive in the workforce or start their own businesses. And the third program in an income generating program that works towards financial empowerment through micro-saving and credit programs. Through this micro-savings program, the widowed women in Keren are supported in starting small-scale businesses by pooling resources from 5 to 30 women into a collective savings account, facilitating interest-free micro-loans to kickstart entrepreneurial endeavors.   By fostering a culture of collaboration and empowerment, the 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧 is proving to be a catalyst for change. Together, we are breaking down barriers, creating opportunities, and shaping a brighter future for women and their communities.   Join us in supporting this impactful initiative and be a part of the journey towards a more equitable and prosperous tomorrow. Together, we can make a difference!  https://lnkd.in/gQfsr9SG #EmpowerWomen #SustainableDevelopment #CommunityEmpowerment
