In 2014, amidst conflict and displacement, 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥 𝐉𝐚𝐚𝐫 and the 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 began a mission of compassion, offering refuge, medical care, and education to hundreds of Catholic Iraqi families. As they waited for visas to rebuild their lives elsewhere, 800 families found sanctuary at the 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚-𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 in Jordan. Many arrived without a place to stay, but 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐚𝐫 took action, founding a free school to give refugee children a sense of stability and hope. This was the first step toward a brighter future for those who had already endured so much.
Over time, 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐚𝐫’s dedication has only grown, securing housing, food, and essential medical care for the community. Today, these resilient families continue to inspire, with the parish and school serving as a lifeline for hundreds. Beyond education, they provide vital support in health, sustenance, and the moral encouragement needed to heal from past traumas.
We are honored to have accompanied 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐚𝐫, the 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞, and the 800 families they serve over the past five years, supporting their mission to bring education and essential resources to all.
