Last month, ECOM Agroindustrial Corp. Ltd.’s management and cocoa team gathered in New York to celebrate the Cocoa Merchants’ Association of America (CMAA’s) 100th Anniversary! Our colleagues from Amsterdam, London and Mexico joined our Cocoa team from NY to mark this milestone alongside industry leaders during the NY Cocoa Week. We also had the pleasure to be a sponsor of the gala dinner that brought together members of the cocoa world for meaningful discussions. Last week, our climate team participated in the Innovation Forum's Sustainable Commodities and Land Use Forum 2024. During the panel, Yazmin Leon Casos, global carbon manager at ECOM Agroindustrial Corp. Ltd., shared how we are using carbon insetting to create positive impacts in our supply chain, as well as to better understand our land footprints and help manage risks. As implementers of carbon insetting interventions, our engagement in insetting aims to increase the well-being of farmers by understanding their needs and promoting climate-smart practices that will boost their yield. We do this by integrating carbon initiatives into existing sustainability programs in partnership with our clients. As the new Arabica coffee crop starts in the Northern province of Son La, ACOM VIETNAM is excited to announce the first deployment of Integrity, powered by BanQu Inc. with our partner Detech Coffee JSC. ECOM and Detech Coffee share the same vision toward achieving a more sustainable coffee production. Using the BanQu Inc. digital platform, coupled with ECOM Agroindustrial Corp. Ltd.'s internal deforestation monitoring tool, ECOM Research Deforestation Analysis (ERDA), transactions are now more efficiently linked to farmer data.
