Last activity as Belgian 🇧🇪 #BeNeLux rotating presidency in Bern this year: a most interesting exchange with Cédric Stucky, personal advisor to Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis on the international situation, the year in review, as well as challenges and opportunities ahead.

In the context of the Hungarian EU-presidency, the Embassy of Hungary in Bern organized an exchange with former Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer on current issues and challenges in Swiss politics, in particular on the EU-Swiss relationship, neutrality, territorial defense, and the international security context.

Amstein Yan, from AMSTEIN SA—a leading family-owned importer of Belgian beers in Switzerland with a longstanding tradition—introduced our guests, both international and from Switzerland and Liechtenstein, representing administration, diplomacy, business world and academia, to the diverse world of Belgian beer styles. It was a wonderful evening of networking, all in the typical “bon vivant” spirit of Belgium. 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘇𝗶𝘀 – 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭 The annual tradition of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belgium and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs FDFA is back after a COVID-19 pause 🇧🇪🤝🇨🇭 Secretary General Theodora Gentzis, accompanied by the Director for West and Central Europe, Pierre Cartuyvels, led the Belgian delegation. Overview of day 1: ▪️Noon: Visit to the Belgian Embassy to meet our team. ▪️Afternoon: Meeting at the Bundeshaus with Eric Nussbaumer, former President of the National Council. ▪️Evening: Dinner at the Belgian Residence, with guests from the Swiss government, diplomacy and academia.
