  • Exploring Global Innovations on Youth Violence, Safety, and Justice   Last December, the Salzburg Global Seminar initiative organised the Global Innovations on Youth Violence, Safety, and Justice seminar, in partnership with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, and the David Rockefeller Fund. This multi-year initiative tackles the complex issues of child and youth violence and systemic injustices by addressing key societal failures—structural racism, economic inequities, and lack of actionable research—that disproportionately shape policing, judicial systems, and community safety worldwide. The initiative focuses on four levels of intervention: 🔹 Lived experiences of individuals 🔹 Interactions between individuals/communities and systems of authority 🔹 Institutional mandates and accountability 🔹 Sustained, relevant research to inform action Its ultimate goals are bold yet essential: enhancing community cohesion, reducing violence and incarceration, and transforming judicial and prison systems.   During the seminar, the Global Initiative on Justice With Children was represented by its Coordinator and Global Learning and Advocacy Advisor for the Access to Justice Programme at Terre des hommes foundation. Together with Marsha Lewick-Juvenile Law Center, Cédric Foussard led the introductory session, focusing on defining concepts and building bridges between child justice and young adult justice systems. This exchange of ideas was an incredible opportunity to reflect on: 🔹The drivers of youth violence and systemic barriers affecting youth. 🔹Inclusive strategies to address marginalized groups. 🔹The potential of community engagement to drive system-wide transformation. 🔹Innovative technological approaches to youth justice. The outcomes of this seminar will inform the 2025 World Congress on Justice With Children, ensuring that we carry forward this essential dialogue to build safer, more equitable systems for youth worldwide. We look forward to co-creating the next phase of this initiative alongside partners. • Let’s imagine a future where digital innovation prioritizes children’s rights and their needs!   Over two inspiring days, professionals from diverse fields, countries, and experiences came together with a shared vision: a future where digital innovation prioritizes children’s rights and needs.   The event featured insightful discussions from experts in technology, law, child rights, and child justice, exploring how to harness AI innovation responsibly while safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring justice for every child.   Missed the live sessions? You can access the recordings here: https://lnkd.in/dRMNerBA.   The conference was also an exciting platform to present the i-ACCESS chatbot—a pioneering tool co-created with children to help young people navigate the justice system.   Although the I-Access project has successfully concluded, the mission to advance child-centric digital innovation continues.   Discover more about i-ACCESS, explore resources, and join the call for ethical, fair, and child-focused AI tools here: https://lnkd.in/eyeZ4ZcZ.
