What role does neutrality play in humanitarian access and supporting localization efforts?🤔🌍 The new report "Neutrality, Access, and Making Localisation Work" initiated by H2H Member GISF - Global Interagency Security Forum, explores the complications surrounding the humanitarian principle of neutrality. It focuses on the intersection of neutrality with humanitarian access and acceptance-based strategies, which aim to ensure aid reaches and is willingly received by target communities. The paper also examines how collaborations between local and international organizations can improve acceptance, but may complicate perceptions of neutrality. A special recognition goes to our H2H Head of Outreach and Engagement, Emmanuel Tronc, who co-authored this report, reflecting the H2H Network's commitment to advancing shared learning for enhanced humanitarian action. 📥 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/ehV3-3Zg Let us know your thoughts in the comments - how do you see neutrality shaping humanitarian action?

❓ How can leveraging H2H Members' support to humanitarian actors significantly improve #AnticipatoryAction? As Anticipatory Action (AA) evolves into a more established approach in #humanitarian assistance, there’s a major opportunity for specialized service providers—like H2H Members—to enhance AA initiatives at scale. In collaboration with consultants Emily Montier and Dan McClure, and with the support of USAID, we explored how H2H Members can play a pivotal role in advancing the next generation of AA programmes. The report outlines three key strategies for scaling and increasing the impact of AA initiatives: 1️⃣ Improve Quality – Add new expertise and innovation to incrementally refine AA initiatives. 2️⃣ Diversify Participation – Shift leadership and design by supporting new AA ecosystems. 3️⃣ Tackle Emerging Issues – Address new challenges, like conflict-driven crises. This will require partnerships with other organizations and national institutions, while donors need to support these complex, collaborative efforts. It’s time to rethink how we deliver AA, embracing ecosystems that promote collaboration, localization, and innovation. For this reason, we are extra pleased to join the Anticipation Hub's 12th Global Dialogue Platform in Berlin this week, an interactive, engaging space for the anticipatory action community with the theme of "Mainstreaming anticipatory action: collaboration in complex contexts''. We hope to see you there! 📥 Download the full report here: https://cutt.ly/ceDwCs3C The report features examples from the H2H Members: ACAPS, IMPACT Initiatives, CLEAR Global, Ground Truth Solutions, Data Friendly Space (DFS), BBC Media Action and Insecurity Insight. Yet issues continue to plague the educational system such as schools being used as shelters, continued attacks on education facilities, military usage of schools, and shortage of staff and supplies. Most recently, the rainy season has severely hindered progress continuing the disruption of learning in Sudan. Conflict, flooding, and resultant disease outbreaks continue to limit access to education as described on Twitter where a user from Kassala reports the suspension of studies 👇 Read our Situational Analysis report here ➡️ https://buff.ly/3NaWHEm #KeepEyesOnSudan

🚨 The H2H Fund is activated to support the humanitarian response in Myanmar As Myanmar continues to face severe conflict and widespread displacement, we are committed to supporting the humanitarian community with the tools they need to respond. The H2H Network is now offering free services designed to enhance humanitarian efforts amid this tragic crisis. With humanitarian organizations struggling to deliver aid at scale due to ongoing attacks and restrictions, this H2H Fund activation enables members to offer essential support to the aid community. Six members will provide key resources like data analysis, media assistance, and operational expertise to help overcome these challenges. 📦 Internews, The New Humanitarian and CLEAR Global will work to improve humanitarian capacity in identifying and addressing information-related protection risks, including misinformation, while fostering collaboration between media and humanitarian actors. 💬BBC Media Action will enhance the effectiveness and accountability of the humanitarian response in Myanmar through communication that focuses on the needs of affected communities, especially persons with disabilities (PWDs). 🗺️ IMPACT Initiatives will strengthen the humanitarian response by disseminating timely information about the on-ground situation to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of the context. 🏥Insecurity Insight will prevent and mitigate violence against healthcare by analyzing and sharing security incident data. Please help us spread the information about these services. By working together, we can strengthen efforts to reach the most vulnerable communities.
