👏🏽 We are very happy to announce the start of RECIPE! 🚀 Today, we kicked off our consortium with an engaging meeting.   RECIPE - Resilient Infrastructures for the Swiss Energy Transition is a consortium funded under the #SWEET Call 1-2023 on #CriticalInfrastructures, #ClimateChange, and #Resilience of the Swiss Energy System. Our objectives:   🟥 Study potential risks linked to Switzerland’s energy transition and climate change over the next 25-30 years. 🟧 Identify hazards and develop vulnerability storylines for Switzerland's interdependent energy and ICT infrastructures. 🟨 Assess infrastructure hot spots impacting the economy, society, vital resources, and ecosystems. 🟩 Propose resilience strategies that align with energy transition goals. Who’s involved:   The consortium brings together experts in risk engineering, energy networks, climate science, digital twins, machine learning, and public policy. On the 9 and 10 October, the PERIST (Positive EneRgy diStrIctS driven by ciTizens) team gathered for the project’s annual hybrid meeting. Members from all consortium countries (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts ; Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University); Østfold University College (HiØ); UNIVERSITATEA TEHNICA DIN CLUJ-NAPOCA; Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea; Universidade de Coimbra) met in Riga and they were joined by other partners online.   The working agenda included: i) bilateral meetings, where partners discussed specific issues of ongoing tasks; ii) technical visits organized by the Riga Technical University to see different energy production systems at other projects; iii) and a general consortium meeting to discuss the development of the project and future activities. Topics included evaluating existing schemes that support investments at the consumer level to drive long-term changes, focusing on disaggregating data by country and sector through qualitative and empirical research. The team also engaged in discussions around characterizing energy flexibility options in buildings, analyzing key actors in the PED market, and exploring a co-creation approach for energy transition governance, while assessing scalability and transferability conditions for PEDs.   PERIST has been funded by different national agencies under the Driving Urban Transitions Partnership, which has been co-funded by Council of the European Union.

What a great week so far at the IEEE Power & Energy Society ISGT conference in Dubrovnik. I got to present the recent activities of IEEE PES Women in Power in Region 8, which I have the immense honor of chairing. I also presented our recent results from the EVCELL project in collaboration with the Verkehrshaus der Schweiz in front of a busy room. One of the highlights was also attending the Women in Power panel, organized by Mirna Gržanić Antić, with great and diverse presentations on challenges in power systems planning and operation. #ieeepes #dei

Resultat: Elektroautos können dazu beitragen, dass das #Stromnetz im Gleichgewicht bleibt. Und das, ohne dass die Autonutzerinnen und -nutzer einen Nachteil haben. Der Carsharing-Anbieter Mobility Genossenschaft hat das im Rahmen des Projekts #V2XSuisse getestet. Aber: Das Projekt hat auch gezeigt, wo die Herausforderungen liegen.
