IDA’s comprehensive guidance documents on reporting to UN Human Rights Mechanisms for Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) now available in French! The documents offer vital information to support OPDs in engaging with and influencing the review of their home State by UN Human Rights Mechanisms. The purpose of this guidance material is to help human rights activists achieve recommendations that reflect their concerns and priorities, and contribute to improving the human rights landscape in their countries. The Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is launching General Recommendation No. 40 on Friday, 25th October 2024 during its ongoing 89th session. At IDA, we have continuously advocated for an intersectional approach, ensuring that women with disabilities are explicitly referenced throughout the recommendation. This is crucial to ensure their inclusion and to provide States with guidance that truly reflects the diverse experiences of all women.
