🍫🕊️ Learn how chocolate is transforming lives and fostering peace in #Liberia! From beans to bars, Liberian Peace Chocolate is more than just a delicious treat; it's a symbol of hope and progress. An inspiring story of how female cocoa farmers in Liberia are working together to produce high-quality chocolate while promoting peace and stability in their communities. 📣✨ We are glad to announce the launching of the #WologiziChocolate. The Wologizi Chocolate project is part of the efforts of #KomassaVornambeh – a women-led cooperative committed to sustainable and organic farming-, the technical expertise of #LiberiaCocoaCorporation -an agribusiness with a socially conscious business model of livelihood development and training of smallholder cocoa farmers-, Peace Dividend Initiative and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD). The chocolate is 70% dark chocolate made from the beans of high-quality #Forastero and #Trinitario cocoa pods harvested at the foot of the mountains near Liberia’s borders with Sierra Leone and Guinea. 📍 The official launch of the Wologizi Chocolate brand, at a ceremony in the capital Monrovia today (April 24) hosted by #PDI, highlights how the livelihood project has the potential to boost the skills, capacity and revenues of the Komassa Vornambeh cooperative with the value-added production of finished bars. #Peace #Chocolate #Sustainability #CommunityDevelopment #Empowerment #Gender #PeaceDividends #HumanitarianDialogue #Entrepreneurship #Impact

Harnessing Market Forces for Peace
Info
The Peace Dividend Initiative (PDI) is a peace-dividend accelerator, bridging the gap between peace mediation and economic actors, to harness market forces for peace in conflict-prone regions. Headquartered in Geneva, it is connected to peacemakers, international organisations, governments, investors, and entrepreneurs. PDI relies on extensive field networks that provide leading conflict analysis, trusted introductions, and on the-ground operational capability in the world’s most conflict-affected countries. PDI’s interventions focus on the hardest-to-reach actors and conflict-affected areas, and deploy only where PDI’s efforts can make a real difference in addressing persistent gaps in the market response.

Great to attend #TheBerlinMoot —an invaluable opportunity to connect with operational partners and delve into innovative pathways to peace. PDI focused our efforts on bi-laterals to push forward our ongoing and forthcoming initiatives aimed at delivering tangible peace dividends to some of the most marginalized communities in conflict zones worldwide. 📣 Introducing a new operational response: Climate-Resilient Entrepreneurship (CRE). Amidst the pressing climate crisis, we unveiled our new programme, CRE, at the Berlin Moot. CRE embodies PDI's proactive stance toward climate challenges, empowering local communities with the tools to safeguard their livelihoods and preserve their environment. 🤝 PDI is looking for strategic partners on climate. To amplify the impact of CRE, PDI seeks to forge new alliances with operational and philanthropic actors to support grassroots climate resilience and entrepreneurship, bridging the gap between climate action and conflict resolution. Interested in lending your support? Reach out to us! We thank the Berghof Foundation team for orchestrating an innovative, and interdisciplinary event. #PeaceDividend #ClimateResilience #Entrepreneurship #Berlin #PeaceImpact

We were in #Davos to speak about the need for peace investment earlier this week during the panel: *Unlocking the True Potential of Sustainable Financing in a Complex World* organised by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation & the Mission of Switzerland to the UN in #Geneva. Held under the theme 'Rebuilding Trust', this year's Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum tackled the increasing violent state of the world. PDI CEO Liam Foran explains why investing in peace and mobilising private sector actors can help address the issue. 📷 Sunil KC, CEO of NMB Bank in Nepal Patrick Odier, Chairman of Building Bridges and Chairman of Swiss Sustainable Finance Rachel Kyte, Board member at the Private Infrastructure Development Group Peter Maurer, Co-Chair Humanitarian and Resilience Investing Initiative https://lnkd.in/esRRvdNe #sdg16 #peace #peacefinance #rebuildingtrust
