PM Group’s Director for Strategy and Development, Derek Mowlds CDir, was delighted to take part in this collaborative climate change project to enhance awareness and action in the boardroom and the wider community. “Bringing industry experts in climate change, circular economy, state organizations and students together with Chartered Directors created a unique working environment that produced a series of recommendations and actions to take forward. We were delighted to be involved in developing a new play area for children at St. Aidans Senior National School in Tallaght. The collaboration between Wills Bros Group, Pfizer and PM Group Group brought this wonderful play area to life, as part of the Pfizer DS2 construction project. “Thanks to all involved for making this dream a reality. It is already such an important feature of our school and moving forward many generations of pupils will benefit,” said Tomas Hayes Hayes, Principal, St Aidan’s SNS, Tallaght. This joyful area aims to remember two pupils who tragically lost their lives in 2022. A space has been created where all children can explore and be active in a safe environment. The area includes a climbing frame, obstacle bridges and swings as well as safe surfaces and sensory planting. “The team on DS2 were delighted to support this fantastic project so close to our construction site. We want to particularly thank Wills Bros. for their work on making this wonderful facility a reality,” said John Hassett, Construction Director, PM Group St Aidan’s is a Deis Band 1 school with a diverse student body. They work hard to create an inclusive and supportive culture for all children. The immersive outdoor space will facilitate improved physical activity, better social interaction and communication. Special education teachers have already noted the benefits to the students in the two autism classes. Movement based play and time outdoors have many benefits for all children but especially those on the autistic spectrum.
