Amy led 12 participants through processes that can support their communication when talking to people one-on-one and when presenting to large audiences. 🪁 These processes included how you can manage your body language and intonation to present in a more structured and professional way. 🔬🔬 Session 2 Spotlight: This session focuses on how #NAMs are driving innovation in drug development pipelines. 🔎 Laura Suter-Dick from University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW spoke about the state-of-the-art of NAMs technologies with a focus on ADME-Tox (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, and Toxicity - critical parameters in the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and toxicology of drugs). 💊 Elisabeth Klenke from Swissmedic enlightened us on regulatory acceptance for drug development. 🧪 In our third case study, Francesco Nevelli & Morgane Rochemont from Merck Group engaged us with their work on NAMs 🧫 Case study four brought to light in vitro methods for tumorigenicity and teratogenicity evaluation of cell therapy products from Silvana Libertini at Novartis & Joana Ferreira at AstraZeneca 🧠 And finally, our last case study of the day, Elisabeth Husar & Alina Gavrilov from Roche presented the successful use of a 3D blood-brain barrier-glioblastoma model. 🔬 Session 1 Spotlight: This session dives into NAMs implementation for diagnostics and personalised medicine ⚕️ 👨⚕️ Olivier Guenat from the University of Bern spoke about how innovations are applied in the clinic. 💃🏻🕺🏽Patrycja Nowak-Sliwinska from the University of Geneva, & Jeremy Meyer from HUG - Hopitaux Universitaires de Genève talked about organoids and personalised medicine for treating cancer. 🏥 And Sylke Hoehnel-Ka from Doppl SA, & Georgia Mitropoulou from CHUV | Lausanne university hospital presented a case study on treatment for cystic fibrosis using patient-derived organoids. The 2023 Annual Report of STAAR (Swiss Transparency Agreement on Animal Research) has been published. It highlights the progress achieved and the insights gained in promoting transparency and communication regarding animal research among its members.
