How do you view your accountant: a cost center or a profit driver? In many businesses, accountants are seen as the backstage job of a great movie production 💼📊 Essential to the performance, but no one applauds. They’re balancing budgets and closing books while others bask in the spotlight. This is what we will call the “cost center” mindset—accounting as a necessary expense, but not a strategic asset. But what if you flipped the script? Imagine treating your accounting team as a profit driver. 💰 In forward-thinking companies, accountants are key players—driving mergers and acquisitions, fueling business expansions, streamlining processes, uncovering cost efficiencies, and boosting the bottom line. They’re not just crunching numbers; they’re shaping decisions and holding the business together. The difference? Culture. 🧩 Some organizations limit accounting to compliance tasks—tick boxes, avoid audits, and move on. Visionary companies work together with their accountants as critical partners in value creation, deeply integrated with operations, financial planning, and leadership. So, ask yourself: When was the last time your accountant helped shape your financial strategy or uncovered hidden opportunities? Maybe it’s time to rethink how you view accounting. Ready to transform your accounting from a cost center to a profit driver? Let’s have a chat and explore how we can elevate your financial strategy. 👉 Book your free consultation here - https://lnkd.in/dHZAWNZX #UzunovConsulting #Swissaccounting #Swissexpat #swissbusiness #AccountingServices #BusinessGrowth

🇨🇭 International founders account for 78% of Swiss unicorns! 🦄 Are you surprised? Unlike other European countries like Italy, Spain, and Greece that face brain drain, Switzerland is an incredible magnet for top talents and founders. Despite the small size, the concentration of international founders is high, with 50% of startups founded by expats! There are several things to improve in Switzerland too (i.e. Growth Capital, ESOP, Startup Visa), but the future looks bright! 🙏 Raphael Tobler for sharing the study (source: Avenir Suisse) —————————————— 🔔 Follow Gianmaria Sbetta for updates on #SwissStartups ——————————————

Companies can also put in place an efficient pension plan solution that can let them not only to be more tax efficient on the long term, but also be a more attractive employer. Switzerland’s extensive network of double tax treaties also plays a crucial role. A Strategic Guide for Your Business if you are relocating to Switzerland: 1. Keep Legal Complexities in mind Switzerland’s decentralized system means each canton has its own regulations. Choosing the right one can significantly impact your legal obligations, from tax rates to labor laws. Deep due diligence is essential to ensure full compliance. 2. Focus on Employee Relocation and Retention Relocating staff to Switzerland requires careful planning. Securing the right visa permits (B and L permits for non-EU employees) is crucial, as is providing relocation support—housing, schooling, and integration services—to retain top talent. 3. Choose a great office location Swiss commercial real estate, particularly in cities like Zurich or Geneva, can be competitive. Engage local experts early to secure office space that aligns with your business needs and budget. Property laws can differ by canton, adding complexity to the process. 4. Start with the right financial and tax structures Take advantage of advance tax rulings for clarity on future tax obligations. With Switzerland’s multiple layers of taxation—federal, cantonal, and municipal—proper financial structuring can result in significant savings. What’s your biggest challenge when considering relocation? Let’s discuss below! #Swissfinance #Switzerland #Swisstax

A business expansion into Switzerland requires a deep analysis of the financial implications of the expansion. Because of a competitive business environment, costs can be high and without planning, it can lead to unnecessary overheads. Here’s how to approach it: 1. Stress Test Your Financial Model Build multiple financial scenarios—best case, expected, and worst case. This helps ensure your model is resilient against market shifts. ✅Pro Tip: Use different forecasting models and plan for external shocks, like global supply chain disruptions or currency volatility. 2. Capital Structuring You’ll need a robust capital structure to support long-term growth in Switzerland. A combination of equity and debt financing helps manage liquidity and reduces risks. ✅Pro Tip: Swiss banks require extensive documentation. Work with a Swiss financial advisor to ensure compliance and optimize your capital structure. 3. Currency Hedging The Swiss franc is a strong currency. Currency fluctuations can affect your margins, so hedging strategies are crucial. ✅Pro Tip: Use currency forwards or options to lock in favorable exchange rates and protect against fluctuations. 4. Managing Labor Costs Switzerland can have a high labor cost because of the skilled workforce and high cost of living. Balance labor costs with operational efficiency by evaluating hiring local talent vs. transferring staff. ✅Pro Tip: Weigh the costs of relocating employees against the advantages of using local talent with Swiss expertise. 5. Tax-Optimized Structures Switzerland has a decentralized tax system. Savvy businesses choose their headquarters carefully, factoring in tax advantages and industry-specific incentives. ✅Pro Tip: Some Cantons like Zug or Schwyz could offer favorable tax rates but while it’s important, tax rate consideration should not be your main driver to choose the location- consider the location as a whole (pool of employee expertise, closeness to direct market, corporate clusters, cantonal incentives, and others). Are you prepared to tackle the long-term financial complexities of this market? Let's discuss. www.uzunov.swiss #SwissFinance #SwissTaxPlanning #Switzerland
