Von Matt Hospitality Group (VMHG) was founded in Zurich, Switzerland and is owned and managed by Thomas and Kirtanya von Matt, a husband and wife duo. Their company, VMHG, is the group behind several boutique restaurants in Zurich, including The Bite Gourmet Burger restaurant (2013), Brisket Southern BBQ & Bar (2015), Yardbird Southern Fried Chicken (2017), LA Brea SoCal Tacos (2019). We're a medium-sized family business and have small head office in Zurich and an incredible group of dedicated team members. Thomas & Kirtanya founded VMHG and the restaurants together with Stephan von Matt, Thomas’ brother, who has since left the company to pursue solo ventures. We're already one month down, but we'd like to give a huge official welcome to the team to Riedener Marco 🎊 We’re extremely happy to have you on board as part of the Head Office crew here at VMHG. Marco comes to us from the F&B Ops branch and is a true expert in the field. With over twenty years experience in the franchising field, we’re incredibly proud to have Marco as part of our team. He will be leading the Franchising arm of our group, a recent development in our company strategy. One of the points that impressed us most about Marco is the diversity in skillset he brings in Controlling, Auditing, Process Management and F&B expertise. Most importantly, he thrives within a team setup as someone who not only motivates others, but also works with a solution-oriented mindset. Marco, although we've already known you for a couple years, we are thrilled to finally be able to work along side you as we continue to grow our company. Two incredible years with us and some unforgettable memories that we’ve built together. Thank you Annick von Ziegler for choosing to be part of our work family and for bringing your spirit, dedication and creativity to your role on a daily basis! Annick was part of our head office team at VMHG, working as a Project Manager, while completing her Masters program in Entrepreneurship. Currently, she’s in the process of writing her Thesis and we wish her the best of luck as she nears the finish! Go Annick go! Annick embodies many amazing characteristics and a couple of things that makes her shine incredibly bright is that she is quick on her feet, a fast learner, and is able to make decisions with ease. These strengths made her such an asset to our team, and it allowed us to delegate some of the bigger projects to her role, such as working on the opening of the new Yardbird Southern Fried Chicken location at Zürich Hauptbahnhof. She was an integral part of helping us to pitch for this location in 2022, and helped us ramp up to opening this past April - nearly two years later. We’re so proud that we could watch her flourish in her role! Annick, we’re excited for you in the next step of your journey. Can’t wait to see the great things you are going to achieve! Let the countdown begin 🤠
🚀Progress. It’s been over two years since we began planning the opening of Yardbird at Zürich Hauptbahnhof in the Main Hall. Most of the planning began last year during Easter holidays, and now we’re coming up to the last few weeks prior to opening. There’s been so much we’ve learned along the process, a couple things we might have lost our minds over😅…there’s been a few! But the main thing is that we’ve had incredible partners to share this journey with and make the process much smoother and easier to maneuver. 🤝Autogrill Schweiz for being our partner in the long game, especially to the core planning team who has worked tirelessly to make this project possible. 👷♂️Our architect Atelier Bubentraum for managing the process and bringing our vision to life. Especially to André Gisler. 🎨 Sayori Wada for being an incredible talent, bringing the artwork and personality to Yardbird. And to Studio Two2Tango for developing our new Coffee Brand called “Yardbean” which will be unveiled at the opening. 🦸🏻♂️And to our suppliers and contractors for their hard work and commitment to seeing this project come to fruition Just a few more weeks until we can finally open our doors!
