POWERYOUTH Project 2nd Plenary Meeting in Vienna! On the 12th and 13th of February, our colleagues Vasso Kontou and Antonia Vronti attended the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the POWERYOUTH project, hosted by OurPower Energiegenossenschaft SCE mbH in Vienna, Austria. During the meeting, partners engaged in extensive discussions on the next steps of the project, focusing on key developments and future actions. A major highlight was the fruitful conversations on the pilots and the energy communities that need to be established, ensuring a sustainable and impactful future for youth engagement in the energy transition. POWERYOUTH aims to empower young people to play an active role towards the energy transition. Using a participatory approach, it fosters dialogue with local stakeholders and aligns with the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 (‘connect, engage, empower’). POWERYOUTH provides three key tools: PARTICIPATE (youth expression), DECISION (collective decision-making), and FINANCE (business models & funding). Piloted in five EU countries, it aims to create at least ten empowered youth energy communities.
