Here's a surprising fact: Women account for only 35% of all science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) graduates globally. And yet, many critical innovations such as fire escapes, windshield wipers, and home security systems were invented by women. Through our initiative with UNDP, we are dedicated to closing the gender gap and enhancing socio-economic opportunities for women and girls in Mexico. Here’s how: - STEM-Gender Equity – We offer a comprehensive learning program focused on gender equity and hands-on social projects. This program is accessible both in-person and online to reach as many students as possible, fostering a new generation of female STEM leaders. - Local Socio-Economic Empowerment – We provide training and seed capital to women leading social initiatives in the Puebla-Veracruz region. These women collaborate with students, to strengthen the learning ecosystem between STEM and gender. When there is social equity, the benefits extend throughout communities, leading to stronger economies, healthier environments, and a better world. Investing in women and gender equality is not just important—it's critical. #EnablingSocialEquity #STEM

🌍 The COP summit concluded last week with a disappointing agreement which falls to deliver vital support that addresses the immediate and future needs of climate-vulnerable countries. The USD 100 bn per year climate finance goal has been increased to USD 300 bn but delayed until 2035. This effectively adjusts current funding for inflation and delays provision for 10 years. A “too little, too late” approach when we know that the climate emergency demands immediate action. The silver lining is the clear progress in implementing the Global Goal on Adaptation. This will come back during 2025 with final plans agreed at COP30. Despite setbacks, our commitment remains strong. Our work with partners in the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance and the Urban Climate Resilience Program continues as we collaborate with communities to implement locally-driven interventions. Climate-vulnerable communities are already experiencing the devastating effects of climate change and adaptation has never been more urgent With no time to lose, we are focused on our mission to achieve a more resilient future.
