PMI CAMEROON 2024 ANNUAL CONFERENCE The PMI Cameroon held its 2024 Annual Conference last saturday, focusing on Human Capital and cameroonian socioeconomic development. A good occasion to come back to : 1. The disconnect between #education and #employmentopportunities, exacerbated by #underemployment and the loss of #skilledworkers, is at odds with a strategic vision based on human capital as outlined in the #NSD30, and belies the strong international recognition of Cameroonian talents worldwide. 2. And #Africa is still uncovering the technological opportunities that serve as powerful drivers of #efficiency in high-performing academic and professional organizations. The conference addressed all of these points and proposed relevant solutions tailored to the African context in order to identify and seize opportunities, as well as to impact the socio-economic environment of Cameroon. PMI Cameroon Annual Conference 2024 Yvonne Kagou, PMP® a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® (PMP), is a seasoned expert. Specializing in Cameroonian SMEs and banking, she has accumulated nearly 25 years of experience supporting local businesses. She currently serves as the interim Director of Risk and Credit Commitments at PRO-PME Financement S.A , a Credit Institution in Cameroon. Her responsibilities also include collaborating with lenders such as the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the African Guarantee Fund (AGF). In parallel, she oversees various corporate projects in the fields of information technology, marketing, and communication. Yvonne holds two Master's degrees: one in #Entrepreneurship from the Institut de La francophonie pour l’Entrepreneuriat (Mauritius), and the other in #Creation and #Management of #InnovativeProjects from the University of Bordeaux Montesquieu IV (France). In 2002, she completed her academic training by participating in the International Summer School for Young Entrepreneurs (EEIJE) at the University of Sherbrooke, Canada. A member of PMI Cameroon since 2017, she became a #volunteer in 2019 as Sponsorship Manager, then Vice-President in charge of Volunteers since February 2020, a position she still holds today. Her contributions to Project Management Institute gave her the international recognition of the PMI CHAPTER LEADERSHIP IMPACT AWARD, presented on September 18, 2024, in the United States. For the PMI Cameroon Annual Conference to be held in Yaoundé on Saturday, December 14, 2024, Yvonne Kagou intends to make a significant contribution by leading the ceremony to celebrate the Chapter's volunteers and sharing some surprises she has in store for the participants. 2024 PMI Cameroon Annual Conference Ngadou Yopa, M.Eng, MScFE (In View) is a software engineer and graduate of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the University of Buea Cameroon. Currently a Software Engineer at PaySika, he has held diverse roles, including VAS Operations Manager at Huawei and Technical Lead at Terminativ Ltd. Passionate about using #Technology in the service of the public interest, he recently led a team of LLM engineers at a major internet company, focusing on #artificialIntelligence AI-powered code assistance. His academic work has focused on NLP applications and building collaborative platforms for language development. Currently, Yopa is developing an AI-powered exam grader and leads Otis Boykin, a non-profit providing #educationalresources to students across Africa. His expertise in LLM and assistive technologies makes him an inspiring figure in Cameroon's tech scene.
