When DUSS Cologne sought to digitize their high-traffic intermodal terminal, they needed more than just a standard solution. Situated next to a busy public road with over 1,000 vehicles passing through daily, the challenge was to create a traffic management system that could seamlessly handle this complexity. Camco Technologies engineered a tailored traffic flow strategy, designing a system that not only manages daily operations but also handles exceptions with ease. Our installation included two Truck OCR Portals and seven advanced Grid Kiosks, fully equipped with traffic lights and barrier gates to efficiently monitor and control vehicle movements. What sets this project apart is our addition of specialized cameras positioned at a 45° angle for optimized tank container handling and the integration of LMS detection technology. This ensures smoother traffic flow and improved operational accuracy—critical for a terminal of this scale.
