关于我们
The CCES conference is a step towards empowering decision-makers and energy stakeholders to join forces and proactively address the challenges of climate change so that actual progress can be achieved. By bringing together researchers who are working on topics relevant to climate change and environmental sustainability to share their latest accomplishments and research findings, voices can be amplified and actions towards a more resilient, liveable, sustainable future taken. This conference will serve as an important resource to inform people and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of the possible opportunities for environmental sustainability to address climate change. The first edition of the International Conference on Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability (CCES) in 2021 discussed the effects of greenhouse gases on Earth’s temperature and global warming. in 2022, the conference’s second edition took these previously-discussed pressing issues forward as well as tackling the new threats that arise every day. The CCES 2022 was a chance for scientists and researchers from around the globe to excavate solutions for the new threats such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions which develop due to climate changes and try to figure out the reasons behind them. In the CCES2023 conference, the 3rd edition extensively explored the phenomenon of climate change. CCES comprehensively covered the phenomenon by addressing topics such as sustainable construction, transit systems, and urban planning, as well as climate change mitigation techniques in cities, and climate adaptation methods. In collaboration with Chongqing University, China, IEREK warmly invites all Speakers, Delegates, Researchers, Students, and Industrialists to be part of our 4th International Conference on "Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability (CCES)”. It is a two-day conference which will be held virtually from September 02-03, 2024.

The main difference between the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement lies in their scope, approach, and legal obligations: Scope: Kyoto Protocol: Adopted in 1997, the Kyoto Protocol primarily targeted developed countries and imposed binding emissions reduction targets on them. Paris Agreement: Adopted in 2015, the Paris Agreement is more inclusive, involving all countries in the commitment to combat climate change. It aims to limit global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, with efforts to limit the increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. Approach: Kyoto Protocol: The Kyoto Protocol relied on a top-down approach, with specific emission reduction targets assigned to developed countries based on historical responsibility and capacity to mitigate climate change. Paris Agreement: The Paris Agreement employs a bottom-up approach, where countries voluntarily set their emission reduction targets known as nationally determined contributions (NDCs). These NDCs are determined by individual countries based on their national circumstances and capabilities. Legal Obligations: Kyoto Protocol: The Kyoto Protocol legally bound developed countries to meet their emission reduction targets. Paris Agreement: Unlike the Kyoto Protocol, the Paris Agreement does not impose legally binding emission reduction targets on countries. Instead, it relies on voluntary commitments and peer pressure to encourage countries to fulfill their NDCs. However, the Paris Agreement includes a legally binding requirement for countries to regularly report on their emissions and progress toward their targets. In summary, while both the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement aim to address climate change, the Paris Agreement takes a more inclusive and flexible approach by involving all countries in voluntary emission reduction efforts and focusing on global temperature goals. IEREK welcomes participants with various scientific backgrounds to gather and find solutions to save our planet Earth. after all, if we don’t gather together, what would encourage others to change. Join us and submit your abstract/full paper to get the chance to publish your paper in the ASTI book series by Springer which is fully indexed in Scopus. How can architecture researchers drive the Decarbonization of the Built Environment? This pivotal inquiry underscores architects' profound influence in reshaping our urban landscapes for a sustainable future. By harnessing innovative design strategies, embracing renewable energy technologies, and advocating for the use of carbon-neutral materials, researchers can pioneer transformative solutions to mitigate carbon emissions in the built environment. Their interdisciplinary approach encompasses various fields, including architecture, engineering, materials science, and environmental studies. By integrating insights from these disciplines, researchers can develop holistic solutions that address sustainability's environmental and social dimensions. For instance, incorporating biophilic design principles not only reduces energy consumption but also enhances occupants' well-being by fostering connections with nature. Moreover, architecture researchers play a crucial role in advancing renewable energy integration within the built environment. Through the strategic placement of solar panels, wind turbines, and other renewable energy systems, buildings can generate clean energy on-site, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and mitigating carbon emissions. Advocating for the use of carbon-neutral materials is another key aspect of architecture research in decarbonizing the built environment. Traditional construction materials like concrete and steel have significant carbon footprints due to their production processes. However, researchers are developing alternative materials, such as bamboo, hempcrete, and recycled aggregates, with lower embodied carbon and environmental impacts. By promoting the adoption of these sustainable materials in architectural design and construction. Furthermore, architecture researchers drive decarbonization efforts through policy advocacy and community engagement. By collaborating with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and local communities, researchers can influence building codes, zoning regulations, and incentives to incentivize sustainable practices and accelerate the adoption of decarbonization strategies. The 4th edition of the Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability (CCES) conference will drive the Decarbonization of the Built Environment through innovative design strategies, renewable energy integration efforts, advocacy for carbon-neutral materials, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement. Attendees can catalyze meaningful change and inspire a new era of environmentally conscious design and construction practices, ultimately contributing to the creation of greener, more resilient cities for future generations. Submit your abstract and get the chance to publish your research in the indexed scopus series here: https://lnkd.in/dRXSGdAg
