🌟 Coding for Space Exploration: Inspiring the Next Generation! 🚀 Today, the i:Lab - Innovation Lab, in collaboration with the Young Professionals community of Amdocs Cyprus, delivered an exciting session for 8th and 9th-grade students titled: "Introduction to Astro Pi: Coding for Space Exploration." We guided the students through the basics of Python programming, and they created their own images by coding Astro Pi simulators. The enthusiasm and creativity they showed were truly inspiring. Through insightful questions and innovative ideas, these young minds quickly absorbed new knowledge and turned it into action. Our mission - to motivate them to participate in the 'Mission Zero' competition, where students should send a message to the International Space Station via Astro Pi. 🌌 The results? Nothing short of impressive – another mission accomplished with success! Marios Panteli Pavlos Vrionides Christina Panayiotou Marina Adamou Antriana GAITANI ANTWNIADOU, M.A. Maria V. As we near the end of project GRACED, we reflect on the impact we brought through the R&D process and findings of our team. ✅Ultra-compact, cost-effective, plasmo-photonic bimodal sensor platform suitable for farm-to-fork applications. ✅Portable instrument for laboratory & field analysis of all types of samples and autonomous sensing node deployed for unattended field measurements in water/liquid samples only, particularly useful for production systems that foresee minimum human intervention -such as vertical/urban farming. ✅Data analytics and smart Decision Support System (DSS) platform #SustainableAgriculture #GRACEDImpact #AgroTech #teamcyric #photonics #H2020

As we progress toward the final stages of the GRACED the project coordinated by CyRIC | Cyprus Research & Innovation Center Ltd, we are pleased to share key takeaways from our recent webinar, "Photonics-Based Sensing for Safer Food." Alessandro Guisti representing CyRIC, led the session, discussing the need for faster, more efficient food quality controls and introducing GRACED’s achievements. Several additional consortium partners presented GRACED’s sensor technology, devices, and overall functionality. Invited talks from representatives of the h-ALO and PHOTONFOOD projects shed some light on adaptable systems for multi-analyte monitoring and cutting-edge mid-infrared photonic solutions for rapid, farm-to-fork food safety testing. Supported by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme, the GRACED project is setting new standards in food safety through advanced photonics.
