🎉 Fly4Future team WON the SPRIND Funke Fully Autonomous Flight competition! 🏆 The victory of the Fly4Future team, in cooperation with the MRS Group at FEE-CTU Prague, in the prestigious international competition of fully autonomous drones, held at the Erding Air Base in Germany, confirms the top skills of our experts. 🌟 Of the 19 teams that entered the competition at the beginning of 2024, 9 were selected to participate in the final race, which found only one true winner. The challenge, inspired by the "Search and Rescue" concept, set a series of tasks to be completed in a 2-hour time slot. 🎯Our team managed to complete a 9.5 km route in various challenging terrains and adverse weather conditions without relying on GPS. A fully autonomous flight, navigated by 25 fixed checkpoints and flares, aimed to detect and pick up a designated package at the end of the route. Despite a mid-race motor malfunction resulting in an unexpected drone crash and need for a rebuild, Fly4Future team stepped up to this challenge and beat all other competitors. 💪 "Thanks to our participation in the competition, we have created a truly unique system that is already in demand by customers. Fly4Future is excited to share our work on one of our projects: IROC - An Interface for the intuitive and reliable operation of a heterogeneous robotic team with state monitoring and a safe failure tolerance system. Developed in partnership with Brno University of Technology, IROC enables a seamless connection between fully autonomous UAVs, UGVs, and robotic boats, empowering users without specialized robotics training to control these robots safely and efficiently.
