Hlavní cíle výzkumné skupiny se zaměřují do interdisciplinárních oblastí anorganické chemie, elektrochemie a mechanochemie, práškové metalurgie, lehkých kovů, pokročilých keramik a kompozitů, slinování a tepelného zpracování, aditivní výroby, superkritického sušení, žárových nástřiků a dalších technologií povlakování, materiálografie a vývoje testovacích technologií pro průmyslové oblasti dopravy, energetiky a vakua, elektroniky, životního prostředí, lékařství a všeobecného strojírenství. Výzkumná zaměření: Technické materiály a povlaky - chemická, elektrochemická a mechanochemická syntéza pokročilých materiálů; - výzkum xerogelů a aerogelů připravených pomocí superkritického sušení; - výzkum multifunkčních materiálů a povlakových systémů; - vývoj pokročilých výrobních technologií a metod testování materiálů. Charakterizace a analýza materiálů - volba materiálů a povlaků pro průmyslové aplikace; - výzkum lehkých neželezných kovů a kompozitních materiálů na bázi kov-keramika; - analýzy spolehlivosti a příčin porušení materiálů a inženýrských komponent; - optimalizace výroby/zpracování, mikrostruktury a vlastností materiálů a povlaků. Materiály pro aditivní výrobu - syntéza a modifikace prášků pro aditivní výrobu; - příprava kovových a keramických past pro metodu přímého robotického tisku; - aditivní výroba kovů, keramiky, polymerů a hydrogelů s biologickými buňkami; - počítačově podporované návrhy architektury a charakterizace aditivně vyráběných materiálů a kompozitů s interpenetrující fází.

CEITEC scientists secure prestigious EIC Pathfinder grant 🎯 The High-Performance Materials and Coatings for Industry (HPMC4I) research group at CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology Brno University of Technology (Vysoké učení technické v Brně) has been awarded a prestigious grant under the EIC Pathfinder Open program. This European program is focused on supporting research and innovation in new technologies and approaches that can have a significant impact on the market and society. Out of 1,110 project proposals, the commission selected only 45, making the overall success rate just 4 % 🚀 Within the grant, Edgar B. Montufar will lead the ambitious international project BiCeps as the only Czech coordinator, aiming to create a new type of actuator through additive manufacturing that mimics natural muscle movement 💪⚙️ “Motors and drive systems are everywhere, as is additive manufacturing. This article was written in collaboration with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Brno University of Technology, AdMaS - Advanced Materials, Structures and Technologies (Fakulta stavební Vysokého učení technického v Brně), Ústav fyziky materiálů AV ČR, v. v. i., Institute of Geotechnics of the Slovak academy of Sciences and Hungarian Academy of Sciences. We are delighted to share with You that as a part of the #TACR project FW03010160, “The Technology of Electrochemical Polishing of Additively Manufactured Parts for the Materials 316SS and AlSi10Mg” was the first steps and proofs-of-concept developed in our #HPMC4I laboratory at #CEITEC. At the beginning of this project, the requirement was simple: “Just put some 3D printed parts in some chemical solution and leave it in it for a few minutes”😏. Michaela Remešová, Lenka Klakurkova and Vendula Bednaříková have done a great job and have come a long way since the first requirement, which enabled to take it to another level💪. Thanks to the successful collaboration of RIAT, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Brno University of Technology, High-Performance Materials and Coatings for Industry (HPMC4I), CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology, Vysoké učení technické v Brně, and ONE3D, we have taken this technology from the laboratory to the industrial scale. It has not always been an easy-going collaboration, mainly due to the project topic interdisciplinarity and all partner's different points of view from chemical, materials science, additive manufacturing and mechanical engineering perspectives, but we successfully did it. However, there is still a great potential for further improvement and the opportunity to take it together up to an even higher level. We are proud to announce that our project, led by ONE3D s.r.o., was awarded the prestigious gold medal of the chairman of the evaluation committee in the category Excellent cooperation in research and development between academia and industry. The award was given to the exhibit "Electrochemical polishing of additively manufactured metal parts", produced by ONE3D. This is a sample of the results of the STREAM project, a collaboration between ONE3D, CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Brno University of Technology, supported by TAČR. Thanks to joint efforts, it was possible to achieve a unique process of polishing the surface of complex structures. We deeply appreciate the collaborative efforts of all participating research teams and students who made this achievement possible. This success is a testament to the power of collaboration and shared expertise. Thank you all for your extraordinary efforts.
