We are excited to reflect on our recent Annual DEI Festival at MSD! This event showcased that the power of our communities lies in collaboration. Our EBRGs and Networks prepared a fantastic experience for all. Thank you to everyone who contributed to its success!

The Student Scientific Conference at the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, showcases a wide range of fascinating research projects competing for exciting prizes. With around 60 sections covering various fields, it's an incredible platform for innovation and learning. We're proud to be part of the event, represented in three categories, and to have our amazing colleagues Markéta Švedová, Markéta Štejdířová, and Jiří Kolář there to present the prizes. After nine memorable years in our Riverview space (one of our two offices in Prague), we have decided to renovate the building to adapt the space to our new ways of working and bring in innovative technology to enhance our workplace experience. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we also ensure that most of our items are either recycled or donated through partnership with local NGOs. Stay tuned to see the renovation progress – in the meantime, our other building (FIVE) is fully operational and buzzing even more recently. We have launched our Shoe Box Collection for the third year in a row at MSD Czech Republic, in partnership with Diakonie ČCE Diakonie ČCE. This initiative helps bring joy to children from families in need this Christmas. This year, we want to focus on older boys, who often don’t receive as many gifts. We encourage all our colleagues, friends, and the community to get involved. Let’s come together to make this holiday season special for every child. Share this initiative and encourage others to participate. Thank you for your support!

In celebration of International Men’s Day, we organized a session with David Škrobánek who raises awareness about men’s mental health and the importance of embracing positive male roles, such as fatherhood. Our Women’s Network, which hosted the event, aimed to emphasize the importance of recognizing the contributions of both men and women to society, family, and overall well-being. In support of this cause, we also offer extended parental leave, allowing fathers to take up to 12 weeks off to focus on their families. The ultimate goal of International Men’s Day—and ours—is to create a more inclusive and compassionate world that values everyone’s contributions and happiness.

We recently had the valuable opportunity to host ZDrSEM - první pomoc zážitkem for their MAMA course – the First Aid Training for parents. It was an eye-opening experience that left everyone feeling empowered and equipped with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively in emergency situations.   Supporting the purpose of this training – to help save and improve lives – is something we truly believe in. We encourage everyone to take advantage of similar opportunities and invest in their first aid knowledge. It's a small step that can have a huge impact. That’s why we are proud of every single employee who wants to be part of it.

Shadasha Williams one of our AI team members, recently sat down with Expats.cz to share her story. Beyond discussing the collaborative culture at MSD, she opened up about her journey from intern to Senior Natural Language Processing Engineer.
