At Amatheon Agri Holding N.V. Zambia, we had the honor of hosting His Excellency the President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, along with ministers and numerous dignitaries. Our local team, joined by CEO Max Sturm and majority shareholder Lars Windhorst, who created the company, showcased the exemplary practices of irrigated farming that contribute to Zambia's food security. The visit of his Excellency was incredibly pleasant, and the President, reconnecting with his farming roots, couldn't resist experiencing the technology behind our auto-guided tractors. His hands-on demonstration of maize planting was an inspiring moment for all present. We proudly produce white maize, wheat, onions, and sugar beans. During the visit, Amatheon Agri Holding N.V. announced an additional investment of USD 50 million. This investment will quintuple our production capacity, further strengthening our commitment to feeding the nation. Thank you to everyone involved for making this visit a success and for continuing to support our mission to enhance agricultural productivity in Zambia.

An eventful time for #international agribusinesses came to an end in #Berlin. The #GrüneWoche and with it the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) closed their doors until next year!   The 88th edition of the #international tradefair for #food, #agriculture, and #horticulture hosted 1400 exhibitors, presenting a broad range of agricultural products. Visitors, including the team of Amatheon, were able to experience the #food sector from all over the world and get familiar with topics such as #climatesolutions, #conservation and the future of #farming.   As part of the Grüne Woche, the 16th #GFFA focused on "Food Systems for Our Future: Joining Forces for a Zero Hunger World" this year.   The #conference hosted various events with panel discussions about green #farminginnovations, alongside the 2030 Agenda. Amatheon joined the different debates and panels, including the key note speach of the Federal Minister of Agriculture Cem #Özdemir. After the opening speech of Federal Minster Cem #Özdemir of the Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft in #Germany, the 10th German-African Agribusiness Forum organized by the Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft (German - African Business Association) kicked off in #Berlin today! Under the umbrella "The future of agri-food systems in Africa: innovative approaches to solve current challenges", high-level #politicians, international organisations and the #privatesector debate about promising #innovations, sector #resilience and the #future of #agrifood systems in #Africa.
