🇬🇧 AquaSPICE: Driving Digital Innovation for Water Sustainability💧 Today in Brussels, the AquaSPICE Final Conference brought together leading voices in water sustainability. Representing the WWEELAB group from the Polytechnic University of Marche, Massimiliano Sgroi, Associate Professor, presented an inspiring case study on the Solvay pilot project in Tuscany (CS#2). This project focuses on reducing freshwater consumption by reusing industrial wastewater for cooling processes through the innovative WAPEREUSE system. Highlights include: 🔹 Biological treatment and membrane-based solid-liquid separation, offering a cost- effective and energy-efficient solution 🔹 Digital monitoring technologies that optimize oxidation and denitrification cycles, improving water management and environmental performance. 🔹 Alignment with Solvay’s sustainability goals, showcasing how industrial innovation can align with environmental stewardship. Per il gruppo WWEELAB dell’Università Politecnica delle Marche, ha partecipato il Prof. Massimiliano Sgroi, presentando l’innovativo caso studio presso lo stabilimento Solvay in Toscana (CS#2). Il progetto punta a ridurre l’uso di acqua dolce attraverso il riutilizzo delle acque reflue industriali nei processi di raffreddamento, grazie al sistema WAPEREUSE. 🎉Celebrating the Success of the AquaSPICE Project! 📍Today, Water Europe project hosted the AquaSPICE Final Conference in Brussels, bringing together partners, stakeholders, and experts to highlight its ground-breaking contributions to reducing #freshwater intake through circular water reuse. 💧Freshwater is a finite resource essential for ecosystems and human survival. Reducing its use ensures availability for future generations and preserves natural habitats. 📣The project consortium took the floor to showcase the main achievements in making #water more #circular in the industry sector.
