  • As we approach the close of 2023, we at Audiopedia Foundation want to share a highlight that truly defined our year. It's a moment that encapsulates our journey, mission, and the impact we strive to make every day. 🎥 We're excited to share the video of Felicitas Heyne's presentation at the UN on SDG Digital Day. This presentation wasn't just a speech; it was a milestone for us. Felicitas eloquently conveyed our vision, our achievements, and our aspirations, resonating with global leaders and change-makers. 👩🎓 This presentation marked a pivotal point for Audiopedia. It was here that our efforts in empowering over 500 million illiterate rural women through accessible audio content were recognized on an international stage. It validated our approach, bolstered our mission, and opened new doors for collaboration and impact. As we look back, we're filled with gratitude and motivation. This moment wasn't just about Audiopedia; it was about every woman we aim to empower, every community we hope to reach, and every life we aspire to transform. As 2023 winds down, we invite you to watch this defining presentation and join us in our journey towards a more equitable world. Let's carry this momentum into 2024 and beyond! #AudiopediaFoundation #Empowerment #GenderEquality #UNSDG #YearInReview #DefiningMoment

  • Can you believe that Audiopedia Foundation started with just an email sent out 10 years ago? We couldn't have known back then that it would grow into a global project that would be selected by the United Nations as a groundbreaking solution to achieving gender equality. Read on to learn more about this incredible journey, as told by our very own co-founder, Felicitas Heyne.

It was exactly ten years ago today that we sent this email to our friend Nalini in Sri Lanka. In a way, that was the exact moment when the Audiopedia Foundation idea was born. 🎉 Nalini was working as a doctor in a hospital at the time and had shared a Facebook post about the harrowing story of a young mother who had just lost her child there. 😔 This prompted us to take a closer look at the situation of women in rural areas of the Global South – and the rest, as they say, is history. We never would have dreamt what would come of that short email. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped us make Audiopedia what it is today. 🙏💜 And we are very excited about the next ten years! “Traveler, there is no path. The path is made by walking." A few weeks ago, I spoke at the 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝘆 Goodera, where we explored how AI is transforming the nonprofit sector. The video of our panel is now online—link in the comments! ⬇️ Here’s how AI is reshaping the way nonprofits create impact: ✅ 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀: AI-powered Machine Translation (MT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) (like in our project with BHASHINI) make knowledge accessible in regional languages, reaching those who were previously left behind. ✅ 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Many small nonprofits in the Global South struggle to secure funding due to language and structural barriers. AI-powered tools can help them craft stronger grant proposals in fluent, professional English, pushing for more localized impact. ✅ 𝗛𝘆𝗽𝗲𝗿-𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: AI adapts educational content to different learning styles and literacy levels, ensuring marginalized communities can access and understand vital information. ✅ 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: AI-driven chatbots and voice assistants provide real-time support, making critical information more accessible to those with low literacy levels. At Audiopedia Foundation, we’re using 𝗔𝗜 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻, 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹, 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲-𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
