New Partnership for Sustainable Development and Carbon Removal in Cameroon 🌱 We’re excited to announce our partnership: STW Solutions Ltd and Carbonsate are joining forces for a new carbon removal project in Cameroon! Why Cameroon? 🇨🇲 In many regions of Cameroon, wood is burned simply for disposal, releasing CO₂ and worsening local air quality. At the same time, the country has vast biomass resources that could instead be used for long-term carbon storage. By repurposing residual biomass from remote areas that would otherwise be burned, our project turns this challenge into an opportunity—reducing emissions, improving air quality, restoring ecosystems, and creating economic benefits for local communities. This collaboration combines STW Solutions’ local expertise and strong networks in Cameroon with Carbonsate’s innovative technology for long-term carbon storage. We are more than happy to collaborate with Lawrence Mukum Annoh and Nde Gerald Awa developing a scalable climate solution that delivers real impact. If you are interested in learning more, feel free to reach out! Johanna Bröll and Fabian Sperling #Cameroon #CarbonRemoval #ClimateAction #AirQuality #SustainableDevelopment

Reflecting on our fuckups of 2024: #3 From Berlin to Zurich - The highs and lows of pitching as a startup. This year, we set our sights on the Start Summit in Zurich, one of the biggest stages for startups. After winning the Berlin pitch competition, our confidence soared—we thought Zurich was a sure thing. But when the final list came out, we didn’t make it. The disappointment was real. But pitching isn’t just about winning. For a startup, it’s a chance to refine your message, test your ideas, and gain visibility. Winning in Berlin showed us that our story resonates while missing out on Zurich pushed us to sharpen our pitch and strategy even further. After 1.5 years of building Carbonsate, we still take every single opportunity to incorporate feedback and refine our storyline. That’s how we keep growing—one pitch at a time. ✅ Lesson learned: Every pitch is an opportunity to grow—whether you win or lose. What’s one pitch experience that taught you an unexpected lesson? We would love to hear your story.

Reflecting on our fuckups of 2024: #2 When our first project didn’t go as planned—and why that's okay. Here’s another hard lesson from this year: planning unrealistic timelines for our German pilot project. We had everything mapped out - tight schedules, clear deliverables, and a launch plan we were confident in. But the project hit delays we didn’t foresee, from unexpected complexities to slower-than-expected stakeholder alignment. What felt like a minor setback soon turned into months of delays. And then, a surprise twist: while the German pilot is still on hold, our first scale project will actually kick off in Namibia! It’s a shift we didn’t anticipate but one that underscores the importance of flexibility and global thinking in a startup journey. ✅ Lesson learned: Even when plans don’t go as expected, new opportunities can emerge in unexpected places. What’s the most surprising pivot you’ve made this year?

Reflecting on our fuckups of 2024: #1 Hard lessons, real growth. We love to share our successes with our network here on LinkedIn but this year wasn’t all wins and milestones. At Carbonsate, we’ve had our share of setbacks, false starts, and lessons learned the hard way. So, we are doing what every startup should: reflecting on our biggest "oops" moments and the breakthroughs they led to. Here’s the first one: Not making it to the second phase of the remove accelerator. At first, the rejection was tough to swallow. We had put in months of effort and believed we were on the right track. But the feedback we got was a wake-up call: our positioning was too narrow. We needed to rethink our product strategy—not as a regional solution, but as the most efficient and affordable option globally. This strategic shift changed everything. Instead of playing it safe, we embraced a broader, bolder vision that better aligned with our mission and the market’s expectations. 🚀 Lesson learned: Sometimes rejection isn’t a dead-end—it’s a new direction. What’s a moment in 2024 when you turned a setback into an opportunity?
