A Certification Framework for Carbon Farming in EU is now a step closer to reality and we couldn't be more excited! 🚀 The European Council last week agreed to a regulation establishing EU's first-ever certification framework for carbon farming, permanent carbon removals, and carbon storage in products! This initiative does not only set high-quality standards to ensure carbon farming activities are effective, quantifiable, and long-lasting all while upholding biodiversity and sustainability goals, but also provides much-needed clarity and credibility for stakeholders in the carbon farming sector. 🌱 This will provide stakeholders at all levels, from farmers to businesses, with the confidence to invest in carbon farming activities that will contribute to climate action, along with biodiversity and resource management in a sustainable manner. 🌍🌱 At CinSOIL we address the critical gap/need identified in the regulation related to monitoring and decision support in carbon farming activities. As enablers of carbon farming, we empower the AgriFood sector to meet sustainability and decarbonisation objectives through effective carbon insetting strategies. Workshop and Training at EARSC premises in Brussels 💫 On October 30th, our team member Maciej Lipski had the great opportunity to participate in the CAMS & C3S for Commercial Applications workshop held at EARSC’s premises in Brussels! This insightful event, organized by EARSC in collaboration with #ECMWF, offered an incredible opportunity for hands-on training with essential tools and datasets from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (#CAMS) and Climate Change Service (#C3S) 🙌 🚀 The workshop was a powerful deep dive into how data products and services from CAMS and C3S are paving the way for innovative commercial applications in the Earth Observation (EO) private sector.
