How can we translate concepts and visions into actions for strengthening European Capital Markets? Our traditional Annual Reception of Deutsche Börse has been a great opportunity to exchange about this topic among the 650 participants - senior representatives of politics, clients, technology partners and regulators. My message for this evening: we need a get-it-done mindset. It is time to move from concept to bold actions and implement reforms - for Germany, and for the European Savings and Investments Union. We need to seize the momentum and focus on key measures: ● Mobilising the transformation financing capacity of the 33 trillion euro of private capital that today too often remains in banking accounts or government bonds. Strengthening private pension models as well as unlocking a more balanced, risk-taking investment approach for institutional investors. Exploiting the strengths of public-private partnerships. ● Leveraging the potential from new technologies for efficiency and the potential from new asset classes for adequate return. We at Deutsche Börse have put it at the heart of our strategy to lead the way on digitisation and new, more efficient market models. ● Setting clear frameworks and prudential regulation but reducing bureaucracy and empowering the private sector. Market participants and infrastructure providers like Deutsche Börse jointly should be leveraging common pan-European (and globally acceptable) standards to reduce fragmentation in the future. Regulation should help to bring back liquidity to transparent trading and execution venues. Many thanks to the Minister-President of Hesse, Boris Rhein, for sharing his perspective, especially on strengthening the role of the financial centre Frankfurt! Deutsche Börse is locally anchored, but at the same time is the leading pan European financial infrastructure provider with over 6000 staff in our different businesses across Europe outside of Germany. We can draw on the global expertise of our teams in the US and Asia. We look forward to playing our part for Europe with a strong focus on real change to regain global competitiveness!

Continuing our cherished annual tradition, our #TradingCharity 2024 raised an amazing €100,000! The funds were collected from the transaction and trading fees on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange trading venue on 6 December and will be donated to three charitable organisations in the greater Frankfurt area: ⭐ Frankfurter Stiftung für krebskranke Kinder ⭐ Stiftung Leben mit Krebs ⭐ Fußballgruppe “Zurück ins Leben” by FC Germania Okriftel A huge thank you to all participating securities trading banks and investors of that day!

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG has appointed Christian Kromann and Jens Schulte as new Executive Board members.   From 1 January, Christian Kromann will be Executive Board member for Investment Management Solutions. The division comprises the software solutions, ESG data and research and the index business of the Group with SimCorp and ISS STOXX.   Jens Schulte will succeed Gregor Pottmeyer, whose mandate expires end of September 2025, as Chief Financial Officer.
