Just came back from an insightful Research visit at The University of Edinburgh! Diving head first into the realm of reproductive immunology has been quite exciting!! Thanks to Helmholtz Munich for the opportunity and to Rebecca Gentek for hosting me!

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Sina Bohnacker and Dr. Toshitaka Nakamura have been awarded the 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗔 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. 🏆 This award recognizes the outstanding scientific achievements and exceptional commitment of doctoral researchers in science. 🔬 Out of 13 impressive applications, Dr. Sina Bohnacker was selected for her dissertation "From viruses to worms – regulation of macrophage activation in infectious disease" and Dr. Toshitaka Nakamura for his thesis "Functional analysis of FSP1 and its novel inhibitors". During last Thursday's celebratory awards ceremony "Enlight. Research. Cure", organized by the AtemWeg: Stiftung zur Erforschung von Lungenkrankheiten, they were endowed with a certificate and 2.500€. The awards recognize the extraordinary commitment, passion for good scientific practice, and immense work of the two Helmholtz Munich doctoral researchers. It is inspiring to see how doctoral researchers pave new paths for future research with their contributions. 🚀 The HELENA Doctoral Researcher Award was funded by the 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗵𝗼𝗹𝘁𝘇 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵 (VdFF) and supported by the 𝗔𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗪𝗲𝗴 Foundation and the 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗵𝗼𝗹𝘁𝘇 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗔.
