🚀 Meilenstein für die Wasserstoffinfrastruktur in Deutschland!  Die Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) hat kürzlich die endgültige Genehmigung für das Wasserstoff-Kernnetz erteilt. Das Kernnetz - mit einer Gesamtlänge von 9.040 km - soll schrittweise bis 2032 aufgebaut werden.  Von E.ON ist eine 33 km lange Pipeline in Brunsbüttel-Hemmingstedt enthalten, die bis 2031 fertiggestellt werden soll. Wir begrüßen, dass das Wasserstoff-Kernnetz endlich genehmigt wurde. Mit dieser Zulassung hat sich Deutschland an die Spitze des Wasserstoff-Infrastrukturausbaus in Europa gesetzt und einen wichtigen Meilenstein auf dem Weg zur Etablierung eines Wasserstoffmarktes erreicht. 🌍💧    Als nächstes gilt es, die Rahmenbedingungen für die Leitungen vom Kernnetz über die Verteilnetze zum Kunden zu definieren.    👉 Nähere Informationen finden Sie unter https://lnkd.in/eY8DGfdJ #Wasserstoff #greenhydrogen #Klimawandel #Wasserstoffkernnetz #Energiewende #Nachhaltigkeit  

Last week at glasstec – International Trade Fair in Düsseldorf, we engaged in insightful discussions on the role of hydrogen in making glass manufacturing more sustainable, and here are our key takeaways:   🔹 Fresh Perspectives and Innovation: The glass industry needs innovative approaches in manufacturing and reliable and affordable hydrogen supply. 🔹 Electrification and Recycling Remain Priorities: Electrification and recycling continue to be critical, and hydrogen can play a crucial role here. Used in hybrid furnaces that combine electric heating with hydrogen combustion, hydrogen can achieve the high temperatures necessary for glass melting, especially in high-production environments where electricity alone may fall short. 🔹 Room for Further Research: While initial research shows positive results for end-products using hydrogen, there’s a need for continued R&D to drive further innovation. 📣 Event Update: glasstec 2024 We are thrilled to announce that we will be joining glasstec – International Trade Fair this year! Sustainability is not just about creating eco-friendly end products but also about ensuring that manufacturing processes are greener and cleaner. The glass industry is one of Europe’s largest production sectors. As it is energy-intensive and reliant on fossil fuels, the industry is responsible for 22 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year in Europe. However, energy efficiency has been - and will increasingly become - an integral part of the glass production process. But how? Electrification is one way forward, but clearly not the only option! To significantly reduce CO2 emissions, in addition to electric solutions, energy can also be supplied by burning hydrogen (H2), forming a hybrid solution. Furthermore, an H2-only solution could be a viable option, as it potentially requires fewer changes to the existing hardware in the glass production process compared to switching to an electric solution. We’re thrilled to share, that we have been selected by E.ON Hydrogen to conduct an engineering study for a 20 MW green hydrogen plant in Essen, Germany. 👉 This marks our second green hydrogen project in Germany within a year, solidifying our role as a key partner in the transition to sustainable energy. ✅ The study will cover hydrogen production, compression, storage, and trailer loading bays, supporting E.ON's ambitious plans to advance the hydrogen economy. Dr. Gabriël Clemens is the Managing Director of E.ON Hydrogen GmbH and has held the position since December 2021. He also serves as CEO of Green Gas at E.ON SE, based in Essen, Germany. Prior to this, he was a member of the Board of Directors at VSE AG from 2014 to 2022 and Managing Director at Westnetz GmbH in 2013. His earlier roles include Vice President of Asset Service and Telecommunication at RWE Deutschland and various functions at Essent in Germany and the Netherlands. Dr. Clemens began his career at McKinsey & Co. after earning a PhD in Electrical Engineering from RWTH Aachen in 1998. E.ON Hydrogen GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of E.ON SE and has been developing its business along the entire H2 value chain since 2022. Through both individual customer solutions, for example the deployment of electrolysis at customer sites as well as the import of H2 and derivatives , E.ON Hydrogen creates multiple opportunities to realise decarbonisation goals with H2 in all sectors. By linking production and consumption of green and climate-neutral H2, E.ON Hydrogen, together with the E.ON companies throughout Europe, is driving forward the energy transition by aggregating the demand of a broad range of market participants.
