++++ Fostering Global Dialogue for Collective Policy Solutions +++++++ 🌏 Impressions from China: Last week, the Global Solutions Initiative participated in the 9th China Global Think Tank Innovation Forum and the Global Youth Leaders Dialogue (GYLD) Annual Forum in Beijing, hosted by the Center for China and Globalization (CCG). 🤝 The gathering included over 200 international government officials, think tank scholars, young leaders, and representatives from international organizations and the private sector to foster frank dialogue for effective multilateralism amidst increased fragmentations. 🔎 Key GSI Contributions: ➡️ Global AI Governance: The risks posed by AI are inherently international, but the global AI governance landscape is fragmented. GSI jointly organized a roundtable on the prospects and challenges for global AI governance. The discussion convened major European and Chinese tech industry leaders, digital governance, and civil society experts. During the panel, Vidisha Mishra, Director of Outreach and Policy, highlighted the need to evaluate governance approaches from around the world to establish ethical frameworks and global mechanisms for ensuring responsible AI. ➡️ Youth Engagement for Global Cooperation: Rémy Alexandre Weber, Program Manager, shared perspectives during the GYLD Annual Forum's session on "Navigating the Development of Young People in the Era of AI," emphasizing how young leaders can address global challenges like AI's societal impact and sustainable development. Ole Spies, Director of Youth Engagement, discussed the value of increased youth exchanges between China and Europe to foster understanding and global cooperation on key development issues. 💡 We at GSI look forward to advancing these conversations at the #GSS2025 and beyond. #sustainability #multilateralism #collectiveaction #digitalpolicy #AIgoverance Liu Mike (Hong) Bertrand Lortholary Marc Horn Andreas H.
