VHT New Year’s Reception 2025 – A Remarkable Start to the Year!
Last Friday, the VHT hosted its traditional New Year’s Reception for the first time in the great hall of the historic Bremen Town Hall, an impressive and inspiring venue that proved to be a fantastic setting considering the long-lasting Hanseatic roots of our association.
Over 300 guests from across the marine insurance sector joined us: insurers, underwriters, shipowners, brokers, lawyers, and maritime service providers all came together to reflect on 2024 and look ahead to the opportunities and challenges of 2025.
As VHT Chairman, it was my honour to deliver the keynote speech, addressing the current state of the #hull insurance market, the lessons learned from major past losses, and the critical importance of #prevention as we navigate the future.
I also highlighted the VHT’s focus on #education and #dialogue, which remain fundamental to our mission. One of the most exciting developments I shared was the expansion of our membership eligibility: following a change in our articles of association, the VHT is now open to nationwide members, which strengthens our flexibility and future outlook. We’ve already welcomed new members under this initiative!
A heartfelt thanks to all our guests - especially to our international guests who travelled to Bremen – your presence added immense value to the event. Special thanks also to the Bremen Town Hall for hosting us and Nicole Schwabe and the entire team organising this special event.
Let’s make 2025 a year of collaboration, growth, and progress!
