Last week, I successfully defended my PhD thesis at ie3 at TU Dortmund University 😇 I am most grateful to my professor and supervisor Christian Rehtanz, for his constant support and trust from the beginning of my half-baked ideas to the end of knitting it all together! One day ahead, I aspire to bridge the knowledge gap with the true experts in the field that is well represented by the height difference in the first picture 😄 My heartfelt gratitude to all my colleagues, project partners, fellow authors within and beyond the institute for their meaningful contributions that enhanced the thesis multifold! The last photo is a special gift to my ie3 colleagues: “A touch of green brightens the blues” 😎

Happy to share that our new paper on data-driven stochastic output feedback predictive control appeared in the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control. Guanru Pan and Ruchuan Ou devised a scheme to handle non-Gaussian stochastic disturbances of which only the first two moments are known. The paper relies on a stochastic extension to Willems' fundamental lemma to represent linear dynamics. Shoutouts to Guanru and Ruchuan who did all the heavy lifting. # Institute of Control Systems @ TUHH; ie3 at TU Dortmund University

Many thanks to Kim Krawiec and Erwin Burkhardt from Dipl.-Ing. H. Horstmann GmbH for the guest lecture which is part of the course “Power System Operation and Stability”. Today, the students were able to see what they had learned in theory put into practice. A whole collection of historically grown and further developed devices was presented and brought along “to touch”. In particular, the focus was on short and earth fault indicators, voltage testers and #voltage test systems, solutions for #monitoring, #telecommunication and #visualization, grounding devices and station accessories. #Horstmann #Innovation #PowerSystem #stability #EarthFault #TUDortmund
