Announcing the Winner of the IMechE Speak Out for Engineering (SOFE) Global Final!🏆 On 5 November, seven talented young engineers from around the world gathered at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai Campus for the SOFE Global Final, each competing for the title of global champion. The Speak Out for Engineering (SOFE) competition, organised by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Young Members, challenges participants to communicate complex mechanical engineering topics effectively. Congratulations to Lakdinu De Silva representing Southern Asia, who won the title with his impactful presentation, "Engineering a World without Fossil Fuels – Sri Lanka." Runner-up Sarah Kuti, representing the UK & Ireland, delivered an impressive presentation on "The Science of Turbofan Propulsion." A huge well done to all participants for making this a memorable and inspiring event👏 #IMechE #SOFEGlobalFinal

As a result, we have organised the “Moving and working abroad: Engineering in Germany” webinar to share their experiences. We hope that this can aid Students, Young Members and anyone curious to understand more about moving and working abroad, to understand more about what can (initially) seem like an overwhelming life change!
