We are super happy to be part of the Footwearise Festival in Barcelona in December this year – made possible by Nicoline van Enter and Footwearology. After we have successfully launched our Design-to-Manufacturing software "RubyShoe" a few weeks ago on the DESMA House Fair we will talk about next steps and how automation/digitalisation can change the way shoes are design, manufactured and sold making the industry more sustainable, agile and customer centered. The line-up of the festival is amazing and we are looking to forward to connect with all of you.

Is it possible to reduce footwear development from months to minutes? Yes, it is. At the DESMA House Fair we revealed the first version of RubyShoe to the international footwear industry. RubyShoe is a software platform connecting design and manufacturing of 3D printed or injection moulded soles and knitted shoe uppers in one integrated solution. With RubyShoe users can move from the first idea to a finished product in their hands in 30 Minutes. The secret behind the software is the automated generation of machine readable data based on design and material choices in real-time. The speed and agility of RubyShoe reduces Time-to-Market, development costs and overproduction to a minimum. On the other side RubyShoe opens up a new world of business models based on mass customization, demand forecasting and local production. The feedback we received was overwhelming. Result was that we could not deliver all shoes our visitors created on our booth in the last 2 days – it was just too much. Sneak Preview: We spend the last days in Brescia to develop an automation solution for integrated production of knitted shoe uppers and soles. We will go from design to production within minutes – combining computer aided production and rapid protoyping with automated generation of machine code. If we want to move into circularity, reshore production, reduce overprodution, become more customer oriented, agile and flexible we not only need better products but also better digital processes. #fashiontech #digitalisation #automation
