🌍 Celebrating Innovation in Sustainable Automotive Materials! 🌍 We're thrilled to mark one year since Mitsubishi Chemical Group’s bio-based polymer, DURABIO™, made its debut on BMW Group’s 7 Series sedan, enhancing its iconic kidney grille surround with a deep piano black finish and exceptional durability. DURABIO™ isn’t just about aesthetic appeal—it offers high weather, impact, and scratch resistance, perfect for both interior and exterior automotive applications. Its Mold In Color (MIC) technology means there’s no need for paint or coatings, reducing production steps and lowering VOC emissions. 🌱 Crafted from plant-based "isosorbide", DURABIO™ advances renewable material use—a flexible, sustainable option, especially as the EU prioritizes climate-neutral goals. Proudly certified by DIN EN16785-1:2015 and ASTM D6866, DURABIO™ continues to support the bio-based product market, reinforcing sustainable innovation. #SustainableInnovation #BioBasedMaterials #AutomotiveIndustry #BMWGroup #MitsubishiChemicalGroup #DURABIO #GreenMaterials 👉More information: https://lnkd.in/ee6m_ihE

Happy first birthday Global Impact Coalition🎉! We believe that connecting and partnering with industry peers worldwide is essential to reducing global carbon emissions. Only together we can make a difference♻️ #connect #KAITEKI #MitsubishiChemicalGroup https://lnkd.in/eK_SNTzn
🙌 The Global Impact Coalition Celebrates its First Year Driving Transformative Projects for Chemical Industry Sustainability! 🌍 Today, we proudly celebrate our first anniversary as an independent entity after spinning off from the World Economic Forum. Over the past year, the Global Impact Coalition has proven that collaboration drives change, delivering breakthrough projects to advance sustainability in the chemical industry. Together with our members—BASF, SABIC, Clariant, LyondellBasell, Covestro, Mitsubishi Chemical Group, Sabanci Holding, Syensqo, SUEZ, and Siemens Energy—we’ve taken bold steps to tackle challenges too large for any single company to solve alone. Here are some of the project milestones we’ve achieved: > Automotive Plastics Circularity Project: Advancing toward a 2025 pilot to recycle End-of-Life Vehicle plastics, potentially capturing over 800 million metric tons of plastic waste annually in the EU. > Direct Conversion Project: Launching an R&D collaboration with a professor from ETH Zürich to explore the viability of technology to transform waste directly into C2+ chemicals, offering a low-energy, low-emissions solution for sustainable feedstocks. > Sustainable Olefins Project: Exploring low-emission routes to olefins from sustainable methanol sources, now moving toward a spin-off with project members. Amid a challenging economic environment, we have retained 100% of our founding members and welcomed new ones, expanding our reach globally and across the chemicals value chain. As Charlie Tan, our CEO, said: "The sustainable transformation of the chemical industry requires collective action. In its first year, the Global Impact Coalition has proven to be a powerful catalyst, offering members a vital space to advance breakthrough technologies and innovative business models to accelerate progress toward a net zero, circular future." As we look to year two, we invite companies to join us in this transformative journey. Together, we can unlock new opportunities, pioneer sustainable technologies, and lead the industry’s path toward a brighter future. 🎉 A huge thank-you to all our members, partners, and the dedicated experts who have made this year such a success! Are you ready to accelerate your progress toward Net Zero with the power of collaborative innovation? Contact us to find out how to get involved!
