🖐 🟠 International Day against Violence against Women 🟠 🖐 To mark the International Day against Violence against Women and the start of the #OrangetheWorld campaign, we stand together and say clearly: No to violence against women! Around the world, one in three women experiences physical and/or sexual violence at least once in her lifetime, with similar statistics in the Netherlands and Germany. Violence against women is a widespread, structural problem that transcends all communities. The employees of the Dutch Embassy in Berlin are committed to addressing the root causes of violence, breaking taboos, and creating an environment where everyone can feel safe. #NoExcuse #GenderEquality #NLagainstGBV

👏 Great example of interdisciplinary collaboration ⤵
🌱🤝 This is how the Netherlands Innovation Network Germany and the Netherlands Agricultural Network in Germany at the Dutch Embassy in Berlin work together at the *Food Ingredients Fair* in Frankfurt 2024! The Dutch Pavilion showcased some of the most exciting start-ups and scale-ups from the Netherlands, also from the Provincie Noord-Brabant, all working towards nothing less than a culinary revolution. Among the many innovative ideas, we had inspiring talks about the unique products that could change the future of food. To mention a few: ✨ *Tasty smoky dipping sauces* made from the residue of coffee production – transforming by-products into a flavorful delight. by Caffe Inc. ✨ *Microalgae* cracked open to release its powerful characteristics, ready to elevate the taste and nutritional profile of sauces and snacks. by AlgaeforFood ✨ *Plant-based proteins* extracted from casual grass, but for human consumption, while the residue still serves as fodder for cows. by Grassa | Unlocking the full potential of Grass | Biomass It’s pretty clear: Dutch ingenuity is at the forefront of sustainability and innovation in food production! 🌍💡 We are incredibly proud to support these pioneers as they continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the food industry. Looking forward to seeing how these game-changing ideas will shape the future of food! 🍽️ #FIEurope #Agrifood #NL #FoodInnovation #Sustainability #DutchInnovation #FoodIngredients2024 #AgriTech #CulinaryRevolution

Last week our ambassador Hester Somsen and Science & Education Counsellor Ellen Ipenburg-Tomesen welcomed 80+ Alumni of the four Dutch Technical Universities (4TU.Federation) at our Embassy. Only in Germany alone, these four universities (TU Delft, Wageningen University, TU Eindhoven and Twente University) have 9000 Alumni in their network. These people work in a large variety of (innovative) companies, academic institutions, start-ups and other organisations in Germany. How valuable such a #network is to further strengthening Dutch-German #cooperation, is something Ambassador Somsen addressed in her speech. During the evening, four of the 4TU.Alumni shared about their highly interesting work and how they got there. The event ended with enough time for #exchange and connecting. 🙏 Many thanks to the 4.TU organizing team: Anouk Dijkstal (TU Delft), Joe Laufer (Twente University), Maarten van Schaik (Wageningen University), Mayke Oldenburg (TU Eindhoven)!

At our Dutch pavilion network event we brought together Dutch businesses and international guests, creating a vibrant platform to share ideas and explore new avenues for collaboration in the semiconductor sector. We were honoured to host State Secretary Mr. Thomas Kralinski, from the federal state of Saxony, who joined us at our pavilion to discuss the dynamic semiconductor landscape and explore future collaboration opportunities between the Netherlands and Saxony. Following this, we had an insightful meeting at the Silicon Saxony Pavilion with Mr. Frank Bösenberg to dive even deeper into the role of “Silicon Saxony” as Europe’s semiconductor powerhouse. Alongside a productive exchange with the Bavarian Chip Alliance, we received a warm welcome from Neways Electronics International NV and Trymax Semiconductor. We were also pleased to be joined by our colleagues from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding valuable perspectives to our discussions on innovation and resilience within Europe. 👏 A special thank you goes to High Tech NL, Tom van der Dussen, Jennifer Burns for organizing a fantastic Dutch pavilion and the program surrounding it. #Semiconductor #Innovation #NetherlandsInnovationNetwork

Today is ‘Dag van de Ondernemer’ - Entrepreneur's Day! 🎉 On this day, we honor Dutch business owners for their resilience, innovation, and impact on the economy - both locally and globally. We as Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Berlin like to express our appreciation and highlight what we can offer Dutch entrepreneurs. We would like to use this special day, initiated by MKB-Nederland, to draw attention to the vital role of female entrepreneurs in driving our economic success and prosperity. Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) recently released its Internationalisation Monitor, showing the impact of gender diversity on business performance. Companies with at least one-third women on their boards are less likely to start exporting, but once they do, their export values significantly surpass those of male-dominated boards. Despite the benefits of globalization, women remain underrepresented in export-related jobs. In 2022, women held just 30.4% of export-related positions, despite making up 42.4% of the overall workforce. Women are also more likely to work in non-export industries like healthcare, while male-dominated sectors like automotive and manufacturing drive most export growth. Yet, diverse boards and teams outperform in both international trade and sustainability. Companies with at least one-third women in top management tend to achieve higher export values and are more likely to invest in green technologies. To all female entrepreneurs: Do not miss the global opportunities available to you! Whether you are looking to expand into the German market or pursue sustainable growth, we are here to help you navigate the path to international success. Reach out to us today and start exploring new horizons! Are you curious about what the other posts in Germany can do for entrepreneurs? Then take a look at Netherlands Business Support Office / NBSO Hamburg, NBSO Frankfurt, NBSO Stuttgart, Consulaat-Generaal van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in Düsseldorf, Consulaat-Generaal van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in München. #DagVanDeOndernemer #NLinGermany #SME #DutchBusiness #Women #Female #Entrepreneurship #NetherlandsGermany #TradeRelations

✨ Today our Innovation Team visited ASML in Berlin, formerly known as Berliner Glas (founded in 1952). ASML Berlin plays a critical role in the production of ASML's EUV machines, supplying key components like wafer table, clamps, reticle chucks and mirror blocks. These parts are essential to the production of microchips - powering smartphones, computers and countless other devices in our daily lives. We were very happy to “nerd out” and witness firsthand the intricate process of manufacturing mirror blocks! 🙏 Many thanks to Andreas Nitze, Markus Matthes, Kai Pacholski and Toni Schure for your invitation, for all the information you have provided us with and for the factory tour. You were so generous sharing your expertise and providing a closer look at the technologies driving innovation in this highly specialized industry! #NetherlandsInnovationNetwork #Lithography
