    Last week, planqc joined forces with d-fine to present our project 𝐐𝐂𝐈 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 at the packed DLR Quantum Computing Initiative Showcase in Hamburg! 💡𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐐𝐂𝐈 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭? QCI Connect is a versatile Quantum Computing Integration platform designed to provide seamless access to the quantum hardware, simulators, and compilers developed within the DLR Quantencomputing-Initiative. Through an intuitive graphical interface or API, users can optimize quantum circuits, compile them, and execute computations on quantum systems. 🌟During the Showcase event, planqc’s Hanna Tschakert and Hannes Busche (d-fine) introduced QCI Connect on stage, highlighting its potential to empower users by simplifying access to quantum technologies. Visitors even had the chance to try out the platform themselves: The demonstration featured a Statevector Simulator (Qiskit) and the Digital Twin of QSea I, developed by ParityQC, as quantum processing unit (QPU). 🔍𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐋𝐑 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞? Since 2021, the DLR Quantencomputing-Initiative has been building a strong quantum computing ecosystem in Germany, positioning the country in the global race for the first practical quantum computer. In collaboration with over 20 startups and industry partners, the initiative is driving the development of novel quantum computers, key technologies, and real-world applications.     Quantencomputer versprechen unendlich schnelle Rechenleistung – doch das ist noch Zukunftsmusik. Etwas näher an die Zukunft könnte uns der neuartige Quantenrechner bringen, den das Startup planqc baut. Gegründet wurde das Startup von den drei Physikern Alexander Glätzle, Johannes Zeiher und Sebastian Blatt.     The next #quantumtechnology is being prepared for #integration into the #supercomputers of the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ): For the "Multicore Atomic Quantum Computing System" (MAQCS) project, the Garching-based start-up planqc is currently developing a quantum system based on neutral atoms that offers 1000 qubits for calculations. Development is supported by the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ) as the third part of the consortium with planqc and LRZ. The scientific community hopes that this large number of #qubits will provide real added value in solving problems in areas such as materials science, pharmacology, finance, transport or in specialist disciplines in general that are extremely complex or cannot yet be calculated using the methods currently available. The #quantumcomputer developed in the #MAQCS project become available to select researchers later in the project – which runs until end of 2027 - and will also be integrated into the LRZ's high-performance computing infrastructure (HPC).     Die nächste #Quantentechnologie wird für die Integration in die #Supercomputer des Leibniz-Rechenzentrums (LRZ) vorbereitet: Für das Projekt „Multicore Atomic Quantum Computing System“ (MAQCS) entwickelt das Garchinger Start-up planqc derzeit ein #Quantensystem, das auf neutralen Atomen basiert und 1000 Qubits für Berechnungen bietet. Dritte Institution im Projekt-Bund ist das Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ), das die Entwicklung unterstützt. Forschende erhoffen sich von dieser hohen Anzahl verfügbarer #Qubits einen echten Mehrwert, um Fragen etwa der Materialwissenschaften, Pharmakologie, Finanzen, Transport oder allgemein von Disziplinen zu lösen, die heute nur höchst aufwändig oder mit Verfahren, die jetzt zur Verfügung stehen, noch nicht zu berechnen sind. #MAQCS läuft bis 2027, der im Projekt entwickelte #Quantencomputer wird ausgewählten Forschenden zur Verfügung stehen und in die High-Performance Computer (#HPC) des LRZ integriert.     🌟 We’re excited to share that our talented team at planqc just took another leap in advancing quantum computing research with the publication of a new paper!📄  https://lnkd.in/dEw3M65U Our researchers 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐨𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐬, Christian Fenton, and 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐧𝐞𝐫 have just posted their paper introducing the 𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐓𝐓𝐌) algorithm. With achievements like a €50 million funding round and a first contract valued at €29 million, they’re already seeing success in their ambitious mission: to create a "Quantum Computer Made in Germany" that rivals leading tech players globally. “These new quantum computers open up entirely new possibilities for research, business, and industry… It takes brilliant minds, courage, and entrepreneurial spirit to build such a groundbreaking machine,” said Dr. Kuhn.
