ProteinDistillery is a food-tech start-up which creates a new generation of clean and sustainable proteins for food companies using microorganisms. At ProteinDistillery we rethink a healthy and sustainable protein supply. We believe that it takes new technologies and products that enable the transition from linear to circular value chains to preserve our planet. With our innovative process we can purify proteins from residual yeast of the beer brewing process.  Clean and various. Brewer’s yeast proteins are multiply applicable - from neutral-tasting foam for cappucchino to fibrous structure and spicy umami taste for meat substitutes. And all of that without using artificial additives. Healthy and sustainable. Proteins from microorganisms are resource-saving and need less water, energy and farmland than other protein sources in the manufacture. They have a great nutrient profile, which makes their quality comparable to egg protein. With our expertise we help food companies to find a suitable protein source for authentic alternatives to animal products.     𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐲! 💥 We’re still in awe of how our ground-breaking ceremony last Thursday turned out, how many guests participated in joining our celebration, and how well the new 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧 – with Prew:tein® inside – were received! But here is more: This past Thursday, we had the honor of hosting the ground-breaking ceremony for our Protein Competence Center on the #KnorrCampus in Heilbronn – a major milestone in advancing sustainable and innovative food production. The event brought together inspiring individuals from various sectors, including politicians, investors, current partners, and even family members of the team - to finally see what we have achieved. The program was filled with insightful speeches: 🚀 The founders took the stage and introduced the company’s mission and vision, our path until now, and what lies ahead. 🇩🇪 Federal Minister of Food & Agriculture and of Education & Research Cem Özdemir emphasized the importance of innovative companies like ProteinDistillery and their positive impact on our environment. 🤝 Dr. Manon Sarah Littek (Green Generation Fund), and Ingo Rädisch (CEO of NETZSCH Grinding & Dispersing Germany) addressed how cooperation between machine manufacturers and start-ups can be enhanced in a thought provoking panel. 🍲 Co-founder of vhy! GmbH! Stuttgart and former goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand gave insights into the founding and mission of his and Tim Bengel‘s restaurant, and concluded by introducing the new Maultaschen – the first product for end consumers made with 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒘:𝒕𝒆𝒊𝒏®. Following these inspiring moments, we witnessed the official ribbon cutting featuring Cem Özdemir and 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗹 (Head Mayor of Heilbronn) and concluded with a tasting of the Maultasche – a first glimpse of what’s possible. From 19 to 21 November, we had the opportunity to represent our company at Food ingredients Europe in Frankfurt and showcase our product, 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒘:𝒕𝒆𝒊𝒏®.  𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁: 🍴𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - Visitors were able to experience the versatility of Prew:tein® in plant-based meatballs, spreads and our omelette patty, demonstrating its potential to enhance plant-based food products. 🤝𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - We explored how Prew:tein® can open up new possibilities for plant-based meat, egg and dairy alternatives and fuelled innovation with stimulating discussions. ✨𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, gave us rewarding feedback and contributed exciting ideas for future collaborations.     Celebrating a Milestone at #KnorrCampus: Breaking Ground with ProteinDistillery Today marks a significant milestone as our first partner, Protein Distillery, celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony at the #KnorrCampus we established. It is truly gratifying to witness how we are becoming the fertile ground for young companies, facilitating their entry into the food production industry with our robust infrastructure. This potential was highlighted by the presence of notable figures such as Minister Cem Özdemir Member of Parliament Zoe Mayer, the mayors of Heilbronn, Harry Mergel and Martin Diepgen, and many other distinguished guests. What started as a startup over 185 years ago has grown into one of the largest food brands, still produced in the cradle of Knorr. We are thrilled to see that alongside our modern factory, new partners are now also taking root in this nurturing environment.
