Teach them early 🧑🏫 Bad internet connection? Not with Zoi. At the Altenburg School in Stuttgart, the Internet was barely available in some rooms – a real obstacle to everyday school life. Our trainees took on the project: 🛠 Planned and set up a new, stable network. 🔌 Using Unifi Mesh devices and a 5G router, they bring the internet to where it is needed – reliably and across the board. 🚀 From Legacy to Cloud-Native Leadership What does it take to transform a global manufacturing leader into a cloud-native pioneer? Together with Leonhard Kerscher (Kärcher), I had the privilege of sharing the transformative journey that has positioned Kärcher as a beacon of innovation in the manufacturing industry (though I might be a bit biased here). It all started with one idea: What if you could rebuild an enterprise from the IT strategy perspective—completely greenfield? This bold question sparked a journey to rethink infrastructure and (some people say) fundamentally reshape how Kärcher operates, innovates, and grows. From revolutionizing production with the first fully cloud-native plant in Vietnam (link in comment) to achieving 95% cloud penetration, this story is about much more than technology. Along the way, Kärcher embraced the AI wave—proving that innovation doesn’t stop at cloud adoption, but can be measured by it. It’s also worth mentioning that cloud is always a clean-up program. Moving to the cloud forces organizations to revisit legacy systems, streamline processes, and reimagine their foundations—a vital step for any transformation. And the most significant transformation? Everyone is now thinking cloud. This mindset shift—embracing the cloud as the foundation for agility, innovation, and collaboration—has in my eyes become one of Kärcher’s greatest advantage, driving resilience and future readiness across the entire organization. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the contributions of so many people. This journey wasn’t just about a few—it was powered by the collective effort, expertise, and vision of an great team. And while we’re proud of how far we’ve come, we know the work doesn’t stop here. “We can’t do this” or “we’re too complex”: 2024 – A Year of IT Innovation and Transformation: A Look Back at the Hype Topics in Enterprise IT As the year draws to a close, let’s recap the topics that shaped enterprise IT in 2024: 🤖 Artificial Intelligence & Generative AI: AI gained further momentum in 2024, particularly through the integration of generative AI solutions into business processes. Whether serving as an assistant in software development or supporting decision-making, AI became an integral part of many companies. 🌳 Sustainability by Design: Sustainability has evolved from being just a goal to becoming a core design principle. Organizations are investing in green IT infrastructures and CO₂ optimization. 🔒 Cybersecurity: With rising threats, IT security has become more comprehensive and agile. Zero Trust, AI-driven threat detection, and cyber resilience strategies were key topics throughout the year. ☁️ Cloud Ecosystems & Multi-Cloud: Advancements in cloud strategies have been pivotal in 2024. Enterprises increasingly adopted hybrid and multi-cloud architectures to balance flexibility, compliance, and performance. Notably, the VMware drama this year did not affect those who had done their cloud homework in previous years. 🤘 Employee Experience Platforms: Organizations invested heavily in platforms that offer a seamless and productive employee experience—from remote work solutions and collaboration tools to AI-driven employee assistance systems. Moreover, young talents are increasingly reluctant to work with “their parents’ tools.” Face it: you and your tool have gotten old. Otherwise, we might still be stuck with Lotus Notes today. 🔏 Data Protection and EU Regulations: Data protection remained a dominant concern, especially in light of new EU regulations. Many organizations had to reassess their "strategies" to meet higher compliance requirements. We’re humbled to have supported all these topics throughout the year. Given these trends, it comes as no surprise that Google Cloud and Google Workspace have gained significant traction over the past 18 months. These platforms enable a profound transformation, break down outdated structures and achieve a lived transformation for everyone. To be precise: No major enterprise can afford to ignore the potential of Google Workspace. A “we can’t do this” or “we’re too complex” mindset no longer holds water—Google’s latest announcements demonstrate exactly why. We at Zoi have been supporting some of Germany’s largest Google Workspace projects for seven years, serving tens of thousands of users with a thoughtful change management approach that engages employees at every level. The momentum of 2024’s trends won’t slow. Microsoft remains a strong force, expanding its enterprise cloud offerings. AWS, as a dominant leader, keeps pushing boundaries. We all benefit from this dynamic competition. Organizations must rethink strategies—immediately. It’s not someone else. It’s you. Happy 2025🎉
