Heute ist der letzte Tag der COP16 Colombia und uns allen wird hoffentlich immer deutlicher bewusst, dass Erhaltung und Förderung von Natur und Biodiversität nicht nur auf alle #SGDs einzahlt und den Klimawandel bekämpft sondern wesentlich auch fürs unser wirtschaften auf diesem Planeten sind. Wenn mind. 50% des globalen GDPs von Natur abhängen, muss diese auch entsprechend betrachtet werden. Biodiversitäts und Nature Conservation Credits sind zwar keine Kredite, wie im WirtschaftsWoche Artikel bezeichnet, können aber als verbrieftes, auch einfach übertragbares (Naturschutz-) Produkt mit dazu beitragen deutlich mehr Mittel in das Thema zu allokieren und Risiken auszusteuern. The CV Labs Summit 2024 - a #blockchain conference in the lovely Zug in Switzerland. Sounds quite traditional.. is it all cold ☕️ that we were talking about here? Or are there hot 🔥 topics to discuss? At first: this is different from many #web3 related events & conferences. It's not the hip and freaky, geeky vibe that you mostly get. Often I as a person of middle age, I'm solely surrounded by people much younger than me, that present projects that are very abstract and sometimes weirdly disconnected from real-world scenarios. It's different here: the majority of the focus is on solutions that connect the blockchain with the banking world or tackle "real" problems. What is offered here is far (!) away from any (no longer existing) Web3 or NFT hype, but focuses on what the technology offers: it is a tool with interesting features. Nothing more. This really resonates with me and us at LOOMPACT because even though we use #NFTs as a carrier of our Impact Credit information & for transactions, we do so because the chain offers exactly what we need: traceability, tradability, transparency and general comprehensibility by presenting the Credits as an image. We don't have to reinvent large parts of this - the digital ledger technology simply provides it. And that's exactly what I'm looking forward to: meeting people here who take a similarly "unexcited" view as we do. Sie schaffen eine gemeinsame Sprache, um Fortschritte in Richtung Nachhaltigkeit global zu kommunizieren. Aber: Sind SDGs immer die beste Lösung? 🤔 Einige Kritiker weisen darauf hin, dass die SDGs manchmal primär als Marketinginstrument eingesetzt werden, ohne dass damit tiefgreifende Veränderungen einhergehen. Könnte dies zu oberflächlicher Nachhaltigkeitskommunikation führen? Fakt ist: Unternehmen, die SDGs ernsthaft in ihre Strategie integrieren und ihre Fortschritte offen und nachvollziehbar kommunizieren, schaffen Vertrauen und können echten Wandel vorantreiben. 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁? 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗵𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗸𝗲𝗶𝘁? 🚀 Ja, das geht – und genau darüber hat unser Gründer Ilko Thun gestern als Keynote Speaker bei der Veranstaltung „Kryptowährungen und Nachhaltigkeit“ von PHINEO gAG und Bank Frick gesprochen! 🎤 Es war eine spannende Gelegenheit, um die Rolle von blockchain-basierten Impact-NFTs in einer nachhaltigen Zukunft zu beleuchten und zu diskutieren, wie wir bei LOOMPACT mehr Transparenz schaffen und Greenwashing vermeiden können. Besonders interessant: Mit unseren Impact Credits machen wir soziale und ökologische Effekte messbar und handelbar. 🌍💡 Im Fokus stand auch der oft kritisierte Energieverbrauch. Viele assoziieren Blockchain noch mit dem hohen Energiebedarf von „Proof-of-Work“-Netzwerken wie Bitcoin. Doch mittlerweile nutzt die große Mehrheit der Netzwerke, auch wir bei LOOMPACT, die deutlich effizientere „Proof-of-Stake“-Methode. Unsere Impact Credits laufen auf Solana Foundation, einer der fortschrittlichsten und energieeffizientesten PoS-Blockchains, die seit 2021 klimaneutral ist. Eine Solana-Transaktion benötigt sogar weniger Energie als zwei Google-Suchen. 💻🔋 – und der CO2-Ausstoß wird vollständig kompensiert. 🌿 Natürlich bleibt die Frage, wie sich die Skalierung von Blockchains langfristig auf den Energieverbrauch und den CO2-Fußabdruck auswirken wird. Kompensation ist ein Schritt, aber die Reduktion von CO2-Emissionen muss langfristig im Mittelpunkt stehen.
