𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! ⚓ 🚢 Aprendio CEO, Mikkel Navarro Hansen, moderated Day 2 of Autonomous Ships 2024. Ready to explore smarter, safer seas? ⬇️ Dive into the post below that’s shaking up the industry! #Maritime #Denmark
🚢 Autonomous Ships 2024 – Training & Safety Session & Conference Wrap-Up in Progress! 🚢 It’s hard to believe how quickly the last two days have flown by! This afternoon, we concluded our final session, focusing on the critical topic of Training & Safety, moderated by Mikkel Navarro Hansen (Aprendio). Four distinguished speakers provided thought-provoking insights: Clemens Plawenn-Salvini (University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer): Highlighted The Professional Profile of the Remote Operator, discussing modes of remote operations, navigation support, emergency preparedness, and the required competencies for remote operators. Jevon Philip Chan PhD (Newcastle University): Presented An Investigation into the Effects of Training on Fault Diagnostic Skills of Navigational Seafarers. He noted gaps in navigational officers’ skillsets for supporting autonomous systems and explored how behavioural training can significantly improve situational awareness and fault recognition. Eshan Rajabally (BMT): Addressed Safety Assurance of Autonomous Surface Vessels, emphasising that while autonomy could reduce accidents, safety assurance poses unique challenges. Leveraging existing and emerging technologies, like AI, will be crucial to overcoming these challenges. Kristian Bertheussen Karolius (DNV): Spoke on Key Acceptance Criteria for Safe Situational Awareness Systems Using Ship Manoeuvrability, exploring methods to set realistic performance requirements based on actual operating conditions, and how these findings can guide assurance providers in assessing autonomy systems. General Discussion We’re now closing the conference with a dynamic open mic session, reflecting on the key takeaways from two packed days of sessions on Regulation, Business Models, Technical Systems, New Concepts & Validation, Implementation, and Training & Safety. It’s been an incredibly informative conference, showcasing the immense potential of the autonomous ships industry while identifying key challenges and opportunities as we navigate the path forward. Stay tuned for a final post where we’ll share closing thoughts and our key takeaways of the conference! 🚀 #MaritimeTechnology #RINA #IDAMaritime #AutonomousShips

Aprendio continues this amazing collaboration as a partner of DanPilot - Danish State Pilotage. Testing and perfecting 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 piling solution through the #ShippingLab project is a significant step towards safer and more #sustainable #maritime operations. We can't wait to see this #innovative solution come to life and its impact on the industry! 🌍🌊
Testing the future of remote digital pilotage! 🚢💡 Last week, DanPilot - Danish State Pilotage, A.P. Moller - Maersk, DTU - Technical University of Denmark, Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark, and Aprendio came together at DanPilot - Danish State Pilotage’s Navigational Control Center in Randers for an important workshop to demonstrate and test a digital land-based pilotage solution. As a part of the #ShippingLab project #SLGREEN, this session marked a significant step forward in exploring the potential for remote pilotage in Denmark's coastal waters. 🌊🔍 The solution aims to enable pilots to guide ships from land, eliminating the need for physical boarding and reducing risks for both crew and pilots. It also seeks to offer environmental benefits, including a reduction in CO₂ emissions 🌱🌍 and fuel consumption, as digital systems replace traditional pilot boats. 🚤➡️💻 The workshop provided hands-on experience with the solution, allowing A.P. Moller - Maersk and DanPilot - Danish State Pilotage pilots to share invaluable feedback on the platform and training modules. This user-driven insight will help refine the system for optimal performance. ⚙️👥 Looking ahead, partners are focused on developing a functional prototype of the communication platform, with further validation scheduled for the months to come. In 2022 a cooperation betweeen Aprendio, Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific and SIMAC Training, was initiated to ensure the establishment the “Green Ship Academy”. The idea was born on the acknowledgement that in the green transistion phillipine seafarers will play an important role, and we moved quickly from idea to establisment. Today I had the opportunity to meet some of the Phillipines maritime students, that have passed through the Green Skill Academy, during there studie time at MAAP. The students expressed there happiness to have had the possibility of working on our training solitions, and it was an fantastic welcome I was given 🙏 If I ever have had doubt about why I use all my time talking about and ensuring training for students and seafarers, the picture below will tell me why 😊 #IMEC #CrewConnectGlobal #Maritime
