The event, co-hosted between SDC, Danish Chamber of Commerce in China (DCCC), Innovation Centre Denmark, Shanghai, and Danish-Chinese Business Forum, set the stage for business professionals, researchers, and students, to foster valuable discussions and insights into collaboration and innovation. Both days led to exciting and highly informative discussions and speeches on the key theme chosen for the occasion: “Future-Ready: Gaining a Competitive Edge in a Changing World”. In this regard, Michael Madsen (Danfoss China), Carrie Yang (Arla Foods), Anders Bøtker Siegumfeldt (Denmark in China), and Maj Munch Andersen (Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen) among others, delivered keynotes on different aspects of the challenges and opportunities present for companies when adapting to changing market dynamics. Through case studies and panel discussions, speakers and audience members alike became better equipped with strong insights, strategies, and knowledge of best-practices for developing innovation-based sustainable growth fit for the future. True to tradition, recognition with the title '𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘠𝘦𝘢𝘳' is awarded every year. It is with great pleasure we announce that DCBF member OVODAN EGG GROUP China’s CEO, Wayne Liu, won the award. Ovodan's current position on the Chinese market has been built up over the past 20 years. In addition, Ovodan has been listed on the Chinese stock exchange, which can provide inspiration for other Danish companies. The party didn't stop there, as the nomination committee chose CEO and Founder of THORNICO Group, Thor Stadil, to be awarded the very prestigious title: the Life Time Reward/Honorable Member of the association, which historically has only been awarded twice before in DCCC history. A huge congratulations to both Wayne from Ovodan China and Thor from the Thornico Group. Very well deserved🎉 #dkbiz #DenmarkInChina #Business

  • 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡-𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧🤝 Hans Henrik Pontoppidan attended the exciting milestone of Danish Industry in China and Acclime's officially partnering, as their new offices in Shanghai was formally inaugurated. The office opening was attended by several distinguished guests, with Ambassador Mikael H. Winther, and CEO of DI - Dansk Industri Lars Sandahl Sørensen delivering remarks on the importance of strengthening Danish footholds in China. Additionally, the celebration coincides with another exciting development. In late September, China announced an initiative to extend its visa-free policy to include Danish passport holders. Effective today, November 8, 2024, Danish citizens may enter China for up to 15 days without a visa. The trial period of this policy will run until December 31, 2025.  This is a game-changer for businesses and Danish citizens alike, as more accessible travel facilitates greater opportunities for interaction between Denmark and China.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 9 am CET, China Macro Group will hold its fifth webinar of this year’s “Staying in Dialogue with China” series. We look forward to talking to 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐘𝐔 𝐌𝐢𝐚𝐨𝐣𝐢𝐞, President and University Chair Professor of Liaoning University, and Liberal-Art Chair Professor of Peking University, about China’s “𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧” as a fifth structural transition as per CMG’s conceptual framework of China’s political economy.   China in the 1980s embarked on a gradual and selective path of opening up its by then closed economy to the world – understanding that foreign investment and technologies were critical to the country’s catch-up development. In the years that followed, most notably after China acceded the WTO in 2001, the Chinese economy rapidly integrated with the world across trade and investment and started its climb in global value chains.   To date, the global economic integration has brought great benefits to China, but amid an altered geoeconomic and geopolitical context, how will top-level policymaking evolve?   Moderated by Markus Herrmann, Co-Founder and Managing Director of CMG, this webinar discusses the following key questions: 👉 What does Beijing mean with “high-level opening up”? 👉 What are policy and market trends for the continued “going out” of Chinese companies? 👉 What will Beijing do about the issue of “overcapacity” invoked by many Western governments, as well as its structurally large trade imbalance? 👉 In view of some new trade policy measures of the Third Plenum, will we see a stronger trade diversion targeting the Global South? 👉 What importance do policymakers still assign to FDI and is it in China’s interest to provide a better level playing field domestically? 👉 How is China’s financial integration with the world going to evolve? 👉 What role shall and can the RMB play in all this?   Take the opportunity to listen in and ask your questions to Prof. YU.   Register here: https://lnkd.in/eipaXm3x
