ATEX - Safety and efficiency in explosive environments   When it comes to protecting employees and ensuring a safe working environment in industry, the ATEX directive is indispensable. This EU directive (2014/34/EU) sets clear guidelines for handling explosive atmospheres and ensures common standards across EU countries.   What is ATEX and why is it important?   Explosive environments can occur where flammable gases, vapours or dust are present, for example in chemical and pharmaceutical production, automotive workshops, food production, woodworking and other dust-intensive processes. Whether the extraction or ventilation solution complies with the ATEX directive is crucial for minimising the risk of explosion and subsequent personal injury and damage to machinery, buildings, etc.   It is the responsibility of each company to define the risk level and classify the ATEX zones based on the conditions both outside and inside the extraction system. Sidste torsdag deltog jeg i Business Viborg’s Award Show 2024, hvor det lokale erhvervsliv blev hyldet. Her var jeg én af tre nominerede til prisen som "Årets Unge Erhvervshåb" – en anerkendelse, som jeg er utrolig stolt af, og en fantastisk afslutning på et spændende år. Vi var tre stærke kandidater, hver fra vores eget felt, i hvad mange kaldte det mest kompetitive felt. Selvom jeg måtte tage til takke med en delt andenplads, er jeg dybt taknemmelig for at have været en del af dette. A green chapter added on the roof of our new assembly hall! ☀️   We recently moved into our new assembly hall - an exciting step for Geovent! But the building wasn't quite finished yet. On the roof we were planning an important green initiative: the installation of our new solar panels!   Together for green energy: With support from the EU EEnergy programme (SMP-COSME-2023-EENEE) and a strong collaboration with Stilling Solceller ApS and SolarBalance ApS, we have taken a concrete step towards providing green energy for our production.   The investment in solar panels is central to our sustainability journey. That's why UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production is also an important part of our strategy. Not least in an industry where environmental impact is often a challenge. We want to grow responsibly - while minimising our climate footprint in relation to our level of activity.   🔋Facts about the new solar plant 192 solar panels: The plant can produce approximately 100,000 kWh per year. Energy storage: The system includes six batteries of 14 kWh each. Flexible extraction solution creates a better working environment! When a maintenance workshop combines welding and equipment testing, it requires an extraction solution that can adapt to different needs and workstations. Exciting visit from Leve-Tech at Geovent A/S   Earlier this month, we had a visit from England when our British partners Chris Byrne and Jack Chapman from Leve-Tech visited Geovent in Løgstrup. Our UK Sales Manager, Lee Meredith, welcomed them and took them through our facilities, where they got to see our production methods and met some of the talented people behind Geovent's solutions. The purpose of the visit was more than just a presentation of our products, but also to conduct product training on selected products, such as the MultiBox IV. Through informative conversations and practical examples, we explored together how our solutions can support the UK market and create healthy and safe working environments for industrial workers. Geovent as a case company - We strengthen the bridge between theory and practice At Geovent A/S, we are open to strengthening the understanding of how theory can be applied in practice. Therefore, we agreed to be an exam case for the 3rd semester students at the Marketing Management program from Erhvervsakademi Dania in Viborg. The team consisted of both Danish and international students on an Erasmus program. The theme of their exam was internationalization, which is a topic that harmonizes with our own ambitions. After a successful exam, we got to hear the students' main conclusions, where the students delivered strong recommendations and creative solutions on how Geovent can strengthen our position in the export markets. It has been a great pleasure to be able to share our experiences with them and at the same time get the students' new perspectives. One of our ESG initiatives is to help young people enter the labor market. We see it as an important part of our responsibility to give students the opportunity to work with a real business case to best prepare them for their future careers. With the same aim, we continuously offer students an internship with us. Currently, we are looking for an intern in marketing, administration or IT, where we try to customize the internship with the skills and wishes of the student. We are pleased to welcome Morten Justesen as our new Factory Manager at Geovent A/S!   As part of our ongoing development, we have hired Morten Justesen, who will be responsible for e.g. purchasing, production and logistics, among other things. Morten joins Geovent at an exciting time when we have great ambitions for the future, and we are confident that his appointment will strengthen our organisation and create new opportunities. Morten comes with a background as a toolmaker, production technologist and later a bachelor's degree in product development and technical integration. Here he has gained valuable experience and competences in production management, quality systems, lean principles and implementation of advanced production machines such as laser cutting and welding robots. With several years of experience as a production manager, Morten has already shown that he can create noticeable improvements in complex production environments. In connection with his start-up, Morten states: “I look forward to starting this new chapter at Geovent and I am very grateful for the warm welcome I have received. This is an exciting time for the company and I look forward to bringing my experience into this new role, where I can both grow as a leader and contribute to creating positive results for the company."
