  • 🌍 Estonia: A hub for global innovation in defence and dual-use technologies! We are proud to announce that seven cutting-edge companies have been chosen to join the NATO DIANA Estonian accelerator, including two remarkable local innovators, marking an exciting new chapter in dual-use innovation. More than 2600 companies applied to be part of the second year of the programme. Out of those, just over 70 were chosen spanning 13 accelerator sites throughout the Alliance. Telearmy’s innovative teledriving technology, in use on the Ukrainian frontlines, retrofits existing vehicles to enable long-distance remote operations via Starlink and radiolink for advanced military applications. Wayren develops a platform for uninterrupted communication in critical environments, eliminating life-threatening delays both on battlefields and within remote industries. Supported by the expertise of Tehnopol Startup Incubator and Sparkup Tartu Science Park, these teams will benefit from €100,000 in initial funding, access to a vast international network, cutting-edge testing centres, and mentorship opportunities. • Yesterday, Tehnopol Startup Incubator and Estonian Business Angels Network (EstBAN) hosted an exclusive Demo Day, bringing together top-tier investors and emerging startups with significant growth potential. 🌟 The event kicked off with a thought-provoking panel discussion, "The Capital Glut: Why Investors Are Struggling to Find the Next Big Thing," featuring Kaari Kink, Andrus Oks, and Mait Sooaru, and moderated by Tarmo Virki.   Few takeaways from the panel: 💡 The investment environment has shifted back to its traditional dynamic, with startups lining up for investors, not the other way around. 💡 Valuations have dropped, creating a golden opportunity for investors to make their move. Optimism and hunger in the market remain strong. 💡 Investments in dual-use and defense technologies are experiencing significant growth, driven by geopolitical tensions. However, investment regulations in these industries still pose challenges. 💡 Estonia is highly motivated to explore dual-use solutions, with the potential to produce its next unicorn.   Following the panel, five promising startups took the stage to pitch their solutions—all currently raising funding: ✨ Aufort: Revolutionizing the remittance industry by simplifying cross-border transactions in the EMEA region, where they are often complex. ✨ SelectZero: Providing a comprehensive data observability platform to ensure data quality and reliability in any data-driven organization. ✨ Scorestars: A playable sports app connecting Gen Z through gamification. ✨ Bebo: Developing a real-time dynamic pricing insights platform to help retailers and wholesalers stay competitive with instant competitor price analysis and actionable recommendations. ✨ KULG: A subscription-based app for recreational runners and their coaches to track training and recovery metrics, gain AI-powered insights, and train smarter to run better.   The event wrapped up with vibrant networking over appetizers and drinks. 🎉   🚀 We’re proud to foster opportunities like these, bridging visionary startups with eager investors to fuel growth and tackle challenges.
