Balkar Earth. A space to investigate, reflect and learn in community.

Sobre nosotros

(ENG) A learning community born in 2022 and coordinated by Resilience.Earth. Collective intelligence We reflect in community to reach more creative and complex conclusions about how to hack social and systemic processes. Disruptive proposals We respond to challenges with social technology and change management methodologies, and with ancestral methodologies sustained by global indigenous communities. Territorial rooting With a trans-rural perspective, we work on proposals that make the centralist and extractive model obsolete, until we can change the territorial balances, generating new hopes.

It was a privilege to travel with Rob Hopkins through time and space to a future that imbued us with hope. During the workshop "How to fall in love with the future" in La Garrotxa, with over 50 ecosocial regeneration learners and practitioners from the Resilience Earth and Balkar.Earth ecosystems, we cross-pollinated resilience with fearless silliness, and reconciliation with playful seriousness. We will now continue our work to midwife a just and flourishing future for all life, but we will do so with renewed buoyancy. Thank you Rob for such a nourishing workshop!

And so farewell to Olot in Catalunya, our home for the past 3 days, a town about the size of Totnes, surrounded by dormant volcanoes and with a rich radical past, hosted by the fabulous Balkar.Earth team. Yesterday we had a walk to the top of the hill with the views across Olot, just beautiful, and then went to the Town Hall where I had the great honour of meeting the Mayor and being asked to sign the town book, reserved for guests of honour to the town. Not something that happens every day! We then had an event in the evening, introduced by the Mayor of Olot, hosted by the wonderful Erika Zárate and also featuring the incredible architect and activist Itziar Gonzales, 150 people in the audience, great energy and enthusiasm. The following day I led a 'How to Fall in Love with the Future' workshop with 48 beautiful, eager, playful participants, and we had so much fun. Really delightful. Thanks to everyone who came. Most of the course participants then ate together, a delicious lunch. And now we are en route to Paris, and then to London. Almost home after 2 and a half months away...

  • (ENT/CAT>) (ENT) Lessons from the future! We have been to the future. And we won.✨🔮 Last Thursday, Rob Hopkins took us on a sensational journey to 2030. Through exploring various sensations; the smells, the sounds, and the looks of the future, we learned to unleash the radical imagination that we need to build our social and ecological just futures. What happens if we start asking what if....? What if, our streets were car-free, green, and had kids playing in the streets? What if, we invented new purposes for previous polluting factories? What if, we created new community associations for housing, working, and living?🍀 What if.....? Thank you, Rob Hopkins for this mind-shifting experience. How do you imagine the future? Què passa si ens comencem a preguntar què passaria si...? Què passaria si als nostres carrers no hi haguéssin cotxes, fossin verds i tinguessin criatures jugant al carrer? Com us imagineu el futur? #radicalimagination #futurepersectives
